I have recently come home from The Recovery Lodge and i cannot tell you in words how truly amazing it really is. Donna and Jamie are the most amazing people and ensure that they have the best therapists and counsellors available. I stayed for the full 4 weeks after extending my stay and i recommend anyone with addiction issues stay for that length of time to get the best out of the treatment. People have said it is "home from home" and i couldn't agree more, all of the staff are just incredible and not only am i now in recovery from learning how to live life on life's terms and to be alcohol free but i was given the therapy that i have so desperately been searching for all my life. I walked into The Recovery Lodge feeling petrified and with a dark cloud hanging over me and i left with a future and everything feeling bright and colourful, it really is an incredible place. Not only have they given me back a better life but i am a better wife and better mother. They certainly saved my life and i will always hold everyone at The Recovery Lodge close to my heart.

The Recovery Lodge offers the best treatment in the whole of South East England. I personally was there for 4 weeks where I learned how to live life on life’s terms without drugs and alcohol. The staff are all incredibly kind and friendly. The facilities are very non-clinical and has a homely feel about it. Highly recommend for anyone of all ages seeking treatment!

This lodge saved me from my mental health and drinking too much. Their extensive therapy and the amount they care is second to none . It’s has 7 rooms so is a small group compared to other recovery places and you get one to one care constantly on hand without feeling like a prisoner . I am now getting back on my feet with my children and I owe it to every therapist and support worker and the owners for actually CARING in making people better and not giving up. It’s defo not all about the money in this place the love you can see means so much. Thank you recovery lodge to you all xx

The recovery Lodge looked after and supported my wife through her treatment. My wife completed their recommended 28 day programme and i cannot believe how amazing the staff were throughout this difficult time. They gave me updates about my wife's progress and allowed me to drop off extra things that she needed. All the staff were friendly, kind and considerate towards my wife's needs and for the rest of our family. I attended the family session in which they explained my wife's disease and how best i can support her on her return home. My wife was able to call me and facetime the children which was an important aspect for us. She was originally booked in for 2 weeks and was able to accommodate extending her stay to 4 weeks when we realised this would be more beneficial. My wife has since returned home and not only is she still alcohol free but is such a different person for the better. My wife is now calmer and takes life as it comes without wanting to control everything, being a million miles an hour and being constantly stressed out. I cannot thank the lodge enough for giving me back a better version of my wife and mother to our children , i will be eternally grateful. If anyone is having doubts, it is a tough process to watch a loved one go through but i highly recommend The Recovery Lodge as they will no doubt return your loved one not only recovered but healed inside.

What they do here is phenomenal. My son was in for a month and the transformation in him was fantastic. The care they gave him treats the whole person, not just the problem causing to be there. There are lots of different activities they do with the residents, which include mindfulness and meditation as well as high standards of group and individual therapy. The Lodge has given me my son back, and for that I am truly grateful. I would highly recommend this amazing bunch of humans. Thank you so much for all you have done for him.

My name is John and I'm soon to be fifty nine years old. Basics first... the accommodation and facilities are very good. Fresh, healthy food always available. The place is clean (regularly and well)... let's say to a decent 4 star hotel standard). Staff are professional, helpful and most importantly respectful. Some pertinent nitty gritty... I have been aware that I am an addict/alcoholic for around ten years. I was an addict/alcoholic long before that, I just didn't know and it hadn't even occurred to me that it could even be the case. I am a devout atheist. I attend AA and NA meetings regularly and have done so for quite a few years now. I have a sponsor and I work the 12 step program. I have relapsed a number of times over, say, ten years and have attended three rehabs over that ten year period (The Recovery Lodge being the forth). Over that time I have studied addiction (as a lay person/addict) and accumulated a reasonably good knowledge about the disease. That covered physiology, neurology and to a slightly lesser degree, the spiritual (not god/religious deity) aspect, so as to better understand the disease of addiction and more importantly, how to beat it... or at least how to stop it beating me. On this (moderately egotistical) basis, I attended The Recovery Lodge for the sole purpose to detox under medical supervision. The medical supervision was top quality. First box ticked - detox care I received was first class. The general staff are very, very good and the counsellors, each with a slightly different m.o were simply outstanding. Each 'client' group will obviously change so there's little I can recommend on that subject but what I can say is the particular group of people who were there with me were occasionally (very occasionally) difficult, sometimes (sometimes more than sometimes) challenging but always in a good way and challenged in the right way. They were each of them helpful, caring, encouraging and frankly, inspirational. I developed a great fondness for each of them. So!... detox done and then something very unexpected happened... in the ten days I was there, quite without expectation, I was given a two part gift 1) I learned more about the disease, and in ways that will significantly improve my chances of winning my battle with addiction and 2) I learned more about myself. Even after three years of private therapy, various counselling and step work. New and better understandings of the disease and myself and just in ten days! Honestly, a gift. That said, if you can afford it, take the the twenty eight day program and if suggested, extend (again, if you can afford it). All said and done, The Recovery Lodge by far the best rehab I've attended... right across the board. Lastly, my best wishes to any and all who are seeking the freedom from this terrible, sneaky disease. The only disease known to humankind that tries to convince you that you don't have a disease. Good luck one and all. John
