Dr Gamble is very good. Patient, listens to your concerns and treats accordingly. Some of the bad reviews on here are appalling, it’s like people don’t realise the whole NHS is stretched beyond breaking and still having a local GP is a minor miracle.

Positive - Staff are always polite and really helpful. Appointments / treatments are available in good time.

Negative - Appointment booking system is not great. But that's not their fault. Government led initiative. And it does work.

I have been visiting this surgery for the past seven years and it is hands down the best surgery I've ever been with. The receptionists have always been kind, caring and efficiently helpful. I have never not been able to get an appointment when I've needed one. I personally don't mind seeing different GPs and they have all been so lovely and caring. I have never felt rushed, dismissed or like I'm 'just a another patient'. Dr Davies has to be my favourite. He has the best bedside manner, and I think any aspiring GP should look up to being just like him.
I've had to use the new system quite a few times recently and I much prefer it to phoning in and waiting in a massive queue. My query has been answered within 30 mins every time, and when I've needed an appointment I've managed to book one online.

Booking system is awful. How are you ever supposed to get an appointment? It is ridiculous, you log on twice a day and try and get an appointment via link, you ring up and the message is 'try the link'. I have set alarms, and been trying precisely on time, no appointments available. I think this is a scam to avoid dealing with their own lack of appointments, and patients.
This is also my third attempt to get a solution to an ailment and I begin to think there will never be an end. Diagnosis via a photo is a ridiculous idea.
Reception staff and most doctors are actually very nice.

Appointment system designed to delay - assumed due to staffing issues/overall demand on surgery.

After requesting appointment via an online form, a URL will be sent to a page you can check for appointment availability.

The link is valid for 7 days after which you need to request a new one.

On the web page you choose from 3-4 weeks in a drop down menu to search for an available appointment in that respective week. So, multiple searches required for each time you check as needing to check each week separately.

Appointments only released twice a day so if one is released it’s luck of the draw who happens to check whenever it’s released (I’m not convinced they are released at the times advised as often nothing available when checking at those times).

Last time it took me 3 weeks of checking, twice daily, for a slot to be available. Due to the 7-day link expiry I had to request for this to be renewed during the process. Overall 2 months before seen.

Now I need to be seen for something else, I’ve checked twice a day every day for appointment availability and nothing so far. So need to ask for a new link which I can’t do because the phone line closes early on a Friday.

Whenever I’m provided a new link I’ll be able to waste more time checking over the next week. Then repeat.

I’ve won the lottery (£10 prizes) more times over the past 6 months than the number of appointments that are released.

Booking system aside, receptionists helpful and the GPs I’ve seen are fine, last one very good.

Fantastic service today. Filled out easy to complete online form at 8.30am, received a phone call at 9.15, had an appointment at 10.15. All staff very empathetic, attentive and knowledgeable.
