This is one of my favouirte venues for hosting retreats at and highly recommend this gorgeous place. It have everything a host needs from great kitchens, plenty of rooms (bedrooms and comunal spaces) and set in a beautiful location surrounded by gardens and nature. Its offers both shared and private rooms, to suit different budgets, great communal spaces for hosting dinners, workshops, relaxing and socialiaing in. As well as an outdoor pool, tennis court, yoga studio indoor and outdoor dinning areas and so much more!

I've hosted Day Retreats and Weekend Retreats, like my 'Yoga and Cold Water Swimming' retreats here. As well as 'Yoga & Foraging Retreats', with loads of beautiful walks on the doorstep. This venue offers plenty of options and spaces to do yoga, including a stunning yoga studio overlooking the wild orchard and views over the valley (which is often hard to find when looking for venues!). It is the perfect space for Mediation Retreats with lots of space and areas to find time on your own indoors and outdoors.

On top of the beautiful venue, house and grounds, this place is situated in the heart of the countryside with many walks and things to explore in your own time, from horse riding, fishing, and much more.

I have two more retreats planned here, in September 2024 and Summer next year... involving Cooking & Yoga, as well as Meditation, Yoga & Foraging. It is by far my favourtie venue in Devon and the South West to host retreats at, with everything you need as a host and not to mention the 'charm' of the place that the clients fall inlove with, making it a retreat to remember (and come back to!)

i have stayed at the Old Rectory many times over the years. I always look forward to returning to this wonderful place. The location is up on a hill looking over the rolling hills which change colour with the seasons. The house is an eclectic mix of furniture with an emphasis on comfort and cozy. The rooms are probably the most interesting of all. Each is special in its exposure and furniture...Wow a lot of time and thought has gone into decorating them. The amenities are numerous. The best part is the welcome we receive when we arrive from the owners. I strongly recommend the Old Rectory for anyone who wants relaxing and special get away.

Had a wonderful family celebration at The Old Rectory. The house is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and relaxingly comfortable. It is set in lovely grounds with the pool and tennis court being a great addition for family fun. The little village is a delight including the charming local pub. Can’t think of a better place to spend a few days or even a week.

We have spent many happy holidays at The Old Rectory. Laurence and Leonie are the perfect hosts. The Rectory is unique, stylish and oozing with character and charm. Each bedroom has it's own character and all have beautiful, big, comfy beds with luxurious pillows and bedding. The grounds are extensive and delightful, the outdoor pool and jacuzzi are the perfect place to spend a sunny day and if it's cooler you can enjoy the sauna or open fire. There is a gym, yoga studio, tennis court and crochet lawn. No more to say, except this is the place that we always come back to for celebrations and vacations.

Such a great party house - it’s like being on a Miss Marple film set! Surrounded in beautiful, rambling gardens. There is lots of space including secret corners of the garden and house. The property overflows with art, books and things to do with out leaving the grounds. The facilities are outstanding.
The rooms were all very individual and clean, not to mention the delicious in-house catering! Highly recommend.

Poor communication following an accident where I fell down a flight of cobbled stairs on the night of my daughter’s wedding. No lumanated switch near the side of the stairs or a led lighted triggered sensor or rail. I fell, dislocated and fractured my shoulder. The owner has yet to reply to my email sent a week ago. Suffice it to say, I’m not happy. Paid a fortune to hire the place and was told the kitchen had two working ovens, not true, only one worked. Hence, the wedding guests had to wait longer for their food to arrive. The owners are trying to sell the house and do not take the hiring of this beautiful house and grounds seriously.
