I never like this the same lady who answered me today. Saying the surgery is closing at 12noon today. And it's fully booked. And if emergency she suggest me to call 111. Same lady the voice the same when I'm on bleeding in my 2months pregnancy she hardly give to somebody to see or speak.Very unhelpful and a bit mean for always rejecting when i need to see doctor. Receptionist in long buckby now is nothing the same as before. 18weeks pregnant need to see a doctor to speak how i feel or what should i do. Or i have to ring tomorrow the receptionist said. No care to a pregnant like me.

Generally, this is a reasonably good practice. However, it is seriously let down by a practice manager who ignores patient concerns. Nearly three weeks ago I had bloods taken by a reasonably new health care assistant. She came across as a warm and caring person but, when it came to taking blood samples, I can only describe her as incompetent. Five attempts to get a sample, tore a vein by trying to get into it sideways ( she said she'd tried to slip the needle in sideways !?!), blood running down my arm but none in the vial - an absolute shambles. She finally got a sample on the fifth attempt.

A little later, my arm was a mass of vivid bruises. I went into the practice the following day and asked to speak to the practice manager. She was in a meeting but I was assured that she would ring me later that afternoon. She didn't! Almost three weeks later, I have still not received a call from her and some of the bruising is still evident. I called in today and was given excuses by reception staff as to why the practice manager hadn't called me. Further excuses that the health care assistant was very good at taking blood samples - twaddle! The practice manager always ignores patient concerns, she just doesn't care. She never rings back if it's anything remotely concerning a complaint. That is both unprofessional and bad mannered on her part. One thing is for sure - that healthcare assistant won't be coming near me with a needle again. The sad thing is that if the unprofessional and ill mannered practice manager had bothered to call me it could have been sorted out amicably instead of my having to put up a negative review.

Used to be good, todays experience was awful. I’d cut my finger badly and felt terrible and faint, wife took me to see nurse to check it. Short haired blonde lady had no empathy at all, didn’t ask if I was ok, just told no nurse, no one to see me, go to Rugby. Asked where is the rugby urgent care as never been. Just google it she said. Doesn’t take much to do some care or offer just some support.

For 30 plus years I was a patient of the surgery receiving excellent care with Dr Gower . It was always possible to make an appointment within a reasonable time frame. I then moved to Wiltshire and here it is virtually impossible to see a GP and one is lucky to get a telephone call back within three weeks.
People of Long Buckby you don’t know how fortunate you are. If I was within travelling distance I would rejoin in a flash.

Over the last six years I have had first class service on each and every occasion I visit this surgery. From the reception staff, admin, the nursing care to the GPs: all services deserve five stars.

Consistently and always superb. I shudder when friends tell me they can’t get appointments at their GP. First class service at LB.
