It’s coming up to nearly 5 months since I had surgery with Dr Karri and I can’t thank him enough for the new lease of life he has given me.
Before surgery every day was such a struggle, living with 24/7 pain in my legs/knees, not sleeping, struggling to walk, constantly on pain killers.
When I first seen Dr Karri for my consultation he said he’s not 100% sure that I have Lipodema because lipodema have 4 main factors and I only had 1 of these, but he said he could liposuction my tibial fat pads and also fat graft my knee joints.
Within a week after surgery I was walking my 2 dogs for an hours walk, something I haven’t been able to do for years.
My daily steps have gone from 4000 to between 10 to 15 thousand a day now.
I have always been a positive, happy person but all the years I struggled with the pain it was hard to feel positive,
but now I love my life again and that’s all down to Mr Karri.

Mr Karri is helpful, knowledgable and an expert in his field. After over 25 years of struggling with lipodema, I finally was able to have surgery on my arms and lower legs in 2024. I felt supported and secure knowing I was in good hands. Recovery was tough, but 6 months on and it’s been life changing- so much so, I’ve been discharged from the NHS muscoskeletal Leeds clinic. I underwent surgical treatment for Lipoedema with Mr Karri and every element of my care has been excellent.
At consultation, Mr Karri spent a long time explaining my condition and possible treatment options so that I was well informed and able to make a decision.
After deciding on surgery, communication was excellent and I was able to make sure I was well prepared.
All the staff were absolutely lovely and put me at ease, Mr Karri spent plenty of time with me before and after my operation, he gave me lots of information and answered all my questions. I felt very well looked after by everyone involved in my stay.
I received a phone call the day after discharge to check on me and I have been given information about when to expect follow up appointments.

I had ankle/ leg surgery for lipodeoma in October this year. As a lady in my late 60s I wanted to improve my quality of life now and in the future. Any cosmetic improvements were a welcome secondary benefit. From the initial consultation to the day of leaving the hospital (I stayed overnight in the Kinvara Hospital in Rotherham), Mr Karri and his staff were professional, friendly and caring. Prior to making the decision to go ahead with the surgery, Mr Karri was clear about what he could do for me so I had realistic expectations from the start. He answered all my questions and gave me the opportunity to go home, think about it and contact him with more questions before I made any decision. Although I’m still not fully recovered, I’m walking a couple of miles every day. That horrible dragging, heavy feeling in my ankles has gone. They are literally half the size they were. I can now bend my knees so much easier and family members have all commented on how much more normal my ankles/ legs look and how much fitter I am. I am so glad I went ahead with the surgery. Based on my experience I can highly recommend Mr Karri, his expertise and his staff too.

With Mr Karri, patient safety is his top priority. If it is not safe to do a procedure, he will not do it. I recently had surgery and the aftercare has been exemplary. Mr Karri and his team are lovely and so caring, I would recommend him to anyone. The clinic in Hull is very nice, almost like a hotel when you walk in.
