As a carer at the island residential home, I think it is a great place for care for people with all types of abilities/disabilities. The staff are always there to help the residents that live here and the care is always person centred and always support the residents needs on both floors.
As a member of staff, I think the home is a happy place with very well cared for residents. Management always support the staff if needed and are always there for extra support with care.

Do not be fooled into thinking because the building is not all new and shiny as Bupa homes that this care home is not first class. My father ended up here by default because other care homes refused him due to his behaviours. From the moment of our first dealings over the phone with the manager and the owner the whole of the staff team have been amazing. You have never met a more caring group of people, this means that we can relax as much as possible because we know he is in good hands. Can highly recommend this care home.

I spent 9mths living in the care home and I must say when I first arrived, I was really scared not knowing what to expect but my fears were completely unjust.
I was there due to an accident I had at work. The staff are wonderful, they really looked after me. They treated me with respect, dignity, love and care! They were there for me on my low days as well as my happy days and l will never be able to repay them! They work so so hard!
If I ever needed the support of a care home in the future, I wouldn't hesitate in returning to Island Residential Home, Leysdown.

Good place to work. I love the people I look after. I have worked at the home 20 years now the first 10 years on night which after I now on days I love when I see the clients we care for smile and even song and Dance it makes my day.

The residents at the Island Residential Home always seem very happy, laughing and joking with the staff. The staff always treat them with the upmost respect and nothing is too much for them. I would certainly recommend this home.
