I was sent here on the advice of 111 following falling over and injuring my ribs. Concerned re fractures as I have osteoporosis and have had 3 vertebral fractures previously.
Was told that I should have gone to A and E , that 111 had given me the wrong advice and that they didn't do chest and shoulder X rays as they don't have doctors to read the results!
I asked if my GP could request an X Ray? They said that they could but usually a wait of approx 2 weeks and that they still could not do the X rays there!
Triage nurse was dismissive and disinterested.
Saw my GP, got referred to the walk in centre at RSUH and was seen within 5 mins and X rayed!
I will never waste my time going to the Haywood again. A and E is 2 minutes away from me. I did not want to take up A and E's staff time for something that 111 advised me that a walk in centre could treat.

security guard on the front door at 7am was stopping people that needed to sit down sit down he wouldn't even let people just sit inside , he needs to remember people are going because they ate poorly and he's not medically trained at 7am he shouted everybody can go in it was like a free for all after people had queued from 6.30am and others went in front who had just arrived I don't think security should be doing this a few people were saying this . I appreciate it's probably for health and safety reasons but standing outside isn't also the best health and safety that I have seen, I'm sure he does a grate job.but as he's not medical he shouldn't be saying no that someone can't sit down just literally through the door. Lease security guard always be polite and considerate it's the trust rules and don't treat people like they have done something wrong after all there's no sign that says don't dare step in the building till 7am if you aren't staff he seems to think he controls the hospital

I think the canteen at the Haywood is totally overpriced. A jacket potato with nothing added and the size of an apple was £2.35. How on earth is that justified. I for one will not be using this service again. This service is run by Sodexo.

Heywood Hospital was a lovely place to visit , very nice staff and a pleasant atmosphere. There are plenty of parking spaces, and they try to get you seen as quickly as possible, but they dont rush people at the same time.

Have a crush injury to my hand , registered myself at their reception and waited in a full reception area, thinking it's going to be a long wait, but seen after about 29mins. I found out later that the nature of my injury meant I was seen earlier than expected. The wound was dressed and I was informed that the nature of the injury needed a hand expert, so they made an appointment for me to see one at the earliest opportunity at Stafford county hospital. They were all superb at attending to my injury and if I could give more stars I would. They informed me that if the wound bleeds to go immediately to a and e. Great people wonderful service
