We popped into the Chagford Inn for a drink on our first night in Chagford and ended up booking a table for food the next night! It’s a well designed and decorated ‘modern’ pub, still cosy and charming and not overly smart but you expect good food from them and it’s good food you got, we tried the game pie with truffle mash, outstanding, the venison and Cornish yard burger, amazing and the mushrooms on toast, also great. The service from the bar and waiting staff was excellent and I can see why they’ve been nominated for an award!

Best pub food I've had in a long time!

Lovely relaxing atmosphere and delicious food. What more could you want.

I came her with my siblings after a recommendation from my sister who had a been a few weeks prior and highly rated it. We had a three course meal which did not disappoint! Started with the beetroot and goats cheese which tasted fresh and delicious. Then the beef shin pie which looked on the smaller side but it was packed with flavour and actually more than enough. The chocolate delice pudding was to die for! Full of flavour and chocolate yum! The sugary pecans were a bonus. The presentation of the food was that out of masterchef which made the food even more delectable.

If you're a foody I'd highly recommend eating here. The price is slightly higher but they use local ingredients which is cooked to the highest standard, so happy to pay a bit more for quality produce.

I'll live locally so will definitely be back soon. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Very friendly staff, they allowed me to wait inside for someone even though they were closing. Lovely selection of beers, the crisp cider was perfect after a long day. Will definitely be back soon.

Stopped for food after a walk: the food was SUPERB!!! Prices are high but the quality reflects it. Good beer choices too. Highly recommend (if happy to pay)

Just had dinner. So disappointing compared to previous visits (we live next door). Food was uninteresting, service dropped off completely and cost was exorbitant for what we received. Also requests to change or turn off the ghastly wailing music were not responded to promptly. We were 2 of only 6 covers for the whole evening. We did bag the woodburnerside which compensated.

We had an excellent Sunday meal today for my Mum's birthday. The food was delicious and the staff were attentive and friendly. We had a large table with young children and we were extremely well catered for. The facilities were clean and the pub atmosphere and ambience was very pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and look forward to returning again. Thank you for making my Mum's birthday so special.
