Stopped by to have a snack on my way back from the doctors. Everyone in there was friendly and it wasn't a long wait for lovely fresh hot chips. Will make sure to go back again soon to check out the menu properly with a friend.

I was really pleased to find this cafe had opened again that is until we received the food and the bill.
I ordered "crepes" and a "waffle" as a treat for my kids.
The menu price was £4.50 each but didn't state what toppings they came with. After we'd paid we asked if they wanted to write down our choice, to be told anything other than vanilla ice cream was an additional charge! We weren't told the extra cost until we were presented with the card reader. The charge was £2.50 extra EACH!
When the "crepes" arrived I was shocked and dismayed to see shop bought chocolate pancakes (which would cost £1 for a pack of 4) 1 scoop of my chosen icecream and a few mini smarties. The waffle was the same, just one shop bought waffle and 1 scoop of icecream. Both deserts were also cold making them hard eat due to being extremely chewy.
I would not recommend this cafe to anyone based on my experience today.

It's good to see the place is open again. We ordered 1/4 beef burger 🍔 french fries 🍟 was delicious, and Halloumi cheese salad 🥗 portion size perfect only Cheese very over cooked and hard to chewy. Coffee was too cold and too weak. I agree with over customer, everything quite overpriced.

We came to the Boat House Bistro and Bar to grab some lunch and we decided to get the Scotch Pie, Chips and baked beans. It was quite busy when we walked in and it looked like it was quite popular. We found a table that was clean but I do have to admit that I didn't like how unfinished it looked with the furniture and broken appliances. The staff here were lovely and they were quick with our order.

I enjoyed the flavour of the scotch pie and the baked beans, the chips could have been cooked a touch longer and it wasn't seasoned but there was a selection of sauces and salt and pepper to compliment our meals.

When I asked for the toilet code, they gave me a RADAR key and the toilet was quite clean, but cold. I would recommend coming here for a spot of lunch, it was a good value and we had a lovely time here, while the rain was on. It's right next to a bus stop so it's easy to access via public transportation.

A great relaxed place where dogs are welcome on a lead, and smokers are welcome,an atmosphere is very friendly, staff are great ,food is good basic meals at reasonable prices. A good rare environment, that rely on common sense,of its customers to respect each others space, and it works great! WELL DONE EVERYBODY!
