Just completed my course of Radiotherapy at the Beacon Centre.
All the Radiographers were supportive, understanding and accommodating with working around issues with self preparation to ensure treatment and planning appointments could go ahead, making it as stress free as possible.
Reception and all other members of the team were polite and helpful during our visits.

I was diagnosed with stage 4 vulval cancer and had to have intense radiotherapy. All the staff were amazing. Must see so many people every day but remembered me and it was a good experience. I was in for a month and every day was tailored to me as much as possible. Was hoping not to come back in but I now have months to live so I'm back because I'm not eating. Almost all staff were same as last time and they made me feel a little bit better.

The Staff on the ward are brilliant, l was scared but they all made me feel safe and it was like I had a hole lot of new friends and i now have piece of mind a Thank you to all you wonderful people.

Currently in beacon ward with husband 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ care for all the doctors, nurses , oncologist, volunteers, health care assistants. Hes in good hands which is so reassuring for others too .

Fantastic staff. I had 15 days here Monday to Friday and met several different Radiographers and every single one of them were brilliant always smiling and readily answered all my questions. The lovely ladies on reception greeted me with a smile every day which always brightened my day.
Only small bugbear was occasionally struggling to park.

Just been in Beacon Ward for 6 days. There are not enough words for the fantastic care given. Every staff member made you feel welcomed. Extremely clean everywhere. Hospital food ... I will never think ugh again. Every meal was fantastic, in fact 2 cooked meals a day proved too much! Went home with several healthy meals in mind to concoct. For someone who has trouble going into hospital this has totally transformed me. Heartfelt thanks to you all.,

Whilst the overall care of people can be amazing, there are one or two jobs worths that make it very unpleasant.

Your page for the ward in Beacon Centre clearly states although two visitors per patient is the norm, you can talk to the staff if you’d like more at times. We were going to do this as my husband is very ill and wanted myself and his two children there, we were very unpleasantly told off, before I had a chance to ask. With the it’s not our rules it’s the hospital rules.
Well, if she looks at her own rules, it’s not. Really unpleasant experience t an exceedingly distressing time.

Quietly sat in this marvellously restful environment, waiting for my Wife's operation to complete. Have visited before on similar occasions. Always impressed with the relaxing ambiance at a stressful time and the polite and ever smiling staff at work, obviously doing their utmost to reassure patients. NHS at its best!
