Every appointment that I have had, whether on the phone or in person, I have always left feeling very relieved and reassured by the staff, who are all excellent at their roles. The most recent visit on Thursday, Dr John Monarch demonstrated great care, patience, understanding and a genuine concern and gentle manner. He has a brilliant approach and I felt heard when I spoke with him, and evidently demonstrated great knowledge of what I was seeing him for. As I stated, all the staff are excellent, but particularly Dr John Monarch. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Have given up on this practice. Phoned over a week ago with an issue that obviously needed to be seen in person. Was told a doctor would call me. As the phone rang and I slid to answer the call, it was dropped. Received a text message with a "diagnosis" by text. A few days later, problem wasn't resolved, phoned back and got a curt receptionist who told me there were no in-person appointments available in her system, at all, at any date, not even in the next two months. She gave me the option of a telephone appointment 8 days later, or phoning at 8:00 am the following Monday to wait in a queue in case new appointment slots would be released at that time.

Took the phone call appointment, which was for a 3 hour window and required me to take the entire morning off work to wait for the call, as I'd be required to discuss personal issues over the phone in front of colleagues. Waited 8 days for this phone call this morning, which lasted all of 2 minutes and 48 seconds, and the GP (predictably) told me that I'd need to be seen in person, which I had told the receptionist 8 days prior.

Except, there are no in-person appointments available at the surgery, at all, at any future date. The GP instead put me on a waiting list to receive a call back from reception when slots might be made available. She said not to expect a call from reception for a least a week, and the appointment time wouldn't be for at least three weeks, though she couldn't really say.

At a loss for words. Have registered with a new practice today.

I know GP surgeries are under tremendous pressure and the Summertown one is not without its glitches, but speaking to friends and colleagues it seems it is way above the average. I strongly recommend it. The receptionists (sometimes after a long wait) are always helpful and patient and the GP my wife and I mainly use (Dr Monach) is superb!

Dr Triffett at Summertown Health Centre is an absolutely brilliant doctor. We have been with this practice since 1967 and always had five star treatment.
