Claire is one of the most amazing health care professionals I have ever met. Last year I had spinal surgery for a very rare and complex condition. She looked after me before and after the surgery and I don't think I could have got through it all without her. If you want to be treated by a competent, caring and compassionate practitioner, I would highly recommend Claire.

2 weeks ago I woke up in excruciating pain, unable to walk and terrified I was in the early stages of labour (currently 36 weeks pregnant). To put it simply, it felt like someone was smashing my pubic bone with a sledgehammer every time my legs moved even a millimeter. After a trip to the maternity assessment unit, Pelvic Girdle Pain was confirmed to be the cause.
I had gone from being super active, walking the dogs for an hour a day to completely wheelchair bound where even shuffling from the wheelchair to the toilet or bed was absolute agony.
I contacted Summertown Clinic in the early hours of the morning and Nadine had called me within a couple of hours! Even in the initial telephone call she was super helpful and talked through different gentle exercises to practice in bed as well as pain management breathing techniques.
I was really apprehensive about the appointment given how painful even the slightest of movements were and really didn't hold out much hope for an improvement.
I'm delighted to say how wrong I was! The initial appointment lasted 1 hour and Nadine listened to all of my symptoms and then explained the causes before starting on the manual therapy and then going through some physio exercises to practice after the appointment.
That evening I was definitely a bit sore but by the following day had noticeably more movement.
Anyway, fast forward another week and I have progressed from being wheelchair bound and in agony just lifting one foot to being able to walk again just using crutches for support!

My 11-year-old daughter had ear wax removal with Sam and I brought my 9 year old son to the appointment.

Not only was Sam experienced and professional, but she was also very kind and knew exactly how to work with a nervous tween.

By the time she had finished, my children understood more about the workings of the ear than I did. They loved looking at the inside of my daughter’s ear with a camera! Not to mention leaving with sparkling clean ears and being able to hear clearly again.

I have found the Practice online and was looking forward for a practitioner who can adjust my dislocated joints for my pain relies in my arms, especially in both elbows.
Good thing I could get the appointment very quickly just in two days.
I was really looking forward to be treated. I’ve paid the full deposit before treatment as I was requested.
Then I have been taken by the practitioner Mrs Gitter. Everyone were kind to me.
Mrs Gitte Pedersen. She has has interviewed me in terms of my troubles. I have pointed that I have hiper mobile joists and I would like to have them adjusted to right position, as I feel a lot pulling pain when moving.
The the lady has given me gentle relaxation massage for about 40 minutes. I thought that is ok, just to relax the body before the adjustments. But no. I have been given just a massage. Not adjustment. I have mentioned that I have expected to have the adjustment done. The practitioner said that I’m not having any dislocations.
I do disagree with her diagnosis. I still feel stif in some places. The treatment wasn’t that what I need.
Sorry to say.
Now I’ll need to pay another £80 for chiropractor, although osteopath and chiropractor both can do the adjustments.

Just 2 stars for prompt availability and kind welcoming, not much more as I’m still in pain.

Update.

Next day after I’ve written the review I had phone call from James Ruddick, the owner. He offered me the treatment I was expecting. I do really appreciate it. He did not wanted any money for it, but I haven’t seen it right, that he works for free. I have happily paid.

I’m admitting, that Gitte has given me the right treatment.
Sometimes is really difficult to judge what causes the pain and stiffness. Is the joints or muscles? Or both together? Great pain impacts perception and the mood too.

I’m appreciate to be contacted back with genuine will to help me. Therefore 5 stars.

Am ashamed to say that I have been coming to Summertown Clinic for years and I never thought to leave a review!
This place, and James particularly, are simply incredible. The treatment I received has always been amazing. I have referred so many people ( family and friends) over the years due to the fact I have 100% confidence in their ability to fix well pretty much anything. There is nowhere better in my opinion!

I just had my first acupuncture appointment with Ben Davies and I honestly can't remember the last time I've felt this good! Ben was kind and professional, and very transparent about what exactly he was doing (I was a little nervous so this helped immensely) and checked in to make sure I was feeling safe and comfortable. The improvement that I saw in only one session was almost unbelievable and I am over the moon. I was diagnosed with Lyme's disease about a month and a half ago but have dealt with chronic pain for over two years and today is the first time in a VERY long time that I haven't been sore or exhausted. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Being a therapist myself I was very keen to get back to work when I injured my wrist. Claire Cullen was very understanding of this and was thorough in both her examination and treatment.
