Short break booked for over New Year in the pods with family. Accommodation was spotlessly clean and I was a bit worried as a family with two teenagers we would feel three was no space. However, was a great space and enough room for the four of us for a short break. The pod has nice touches, such as a coffee machine and feels very modern. For a small space it has everything you need. The dining room table fits into a bed and again I was worried it would be small and uncomfortable but it is a full size bed that is so comfortable. Only issue we had was the grill not working on our cooker but we managed fine without it. |Hot tub was lovely and even with the wind and rain did not stop us enjoying it. Always had a good temperature also. We were looking forward to sitting round the fire pits at night when there but unfortunately they were only lit the one night. |We managed a walk round Pucks Glen which is 5 mins away in the car and really enjoyed this. |Would certainly return as looks like lots of nice walks when weather better.

Arrived at Stratheck, warm welcome, kind gesture dog bags for both dogs and taken to cottage and showed around. The cottage itself is lovely and modern although unfortunately looks onto a waste ground which is a shame. Had 2 issues both of which I reported and were addressed asap. First night relaxed and peaceful unfortunately the next morning it went down hill with police attending the park for a disturbing incident that carried on most of the morning. These things happen my issue was there was zero communication from staff to reassure you as a guest that there was no risk/threat and advise the measures taken to ensure this. As this was going on and with more police attending I went to reception to raise concerns and to be honest lady did nothing to reassure me as a guest just stated “nothing to be concerned about” “all under control” what I seen and heard (which staff at Stratheck will be more than aware of) there was huge cause for concern. This caused 2 restless nights and due to the incident and lack of lighting did not feel comfortable walking the dogs in the evening. We left very early Monday morning and when handing the keys to a member of staff I explained to a gentleman the situation, he definitely was more understanding than the lady in reception and advised I would probably get a call today. 17:27pm no call so feel this review is warranted. There was definitely a duty of care that was not carried out and the situation was handled very badly in my opinion as a paying guest.

Like a previous review..we had a few teething issues, most of which occurred before we even arrived at Stratheck. ||We were called on Monday morning whilst travelling to our destination to ask how many dogs we were bringing, we advised 3 as per the booking we made on AirBnB. We were then told by Nicole (the receptionist) that we would need to pay for the additional 2 dogs (they have a 1 dog maximum policy apparently) and we argued that AirBnB allowed us to book for 2 adults and 3 dogs, we paid in full and were due to arrive within an hr or so of that call....she then asked....."Can you leave 2 at home?" I beg your pardon ||I was enraged by this and sent her our booking confirmation via the messaging system on airbnb to confirm our booking then waited an HOUR for a callback to tell us whether we would still need to pay the additional £80 for our 2 other dogs to stay in their accommodation.||They advised that on 'this occasion' they would waiver the £80 and my only thought was 'thank christ' because at that point, we were halfway there and couldn't just turn round and go home. ||This is thankfully where all the issues ended, the stay itself and the park were immaculate.||When we got there, we were allowed in early (230pm-3pm) and Nicole was there to hand us 3 goody bags for the dogs, each containing a towel, poo bags and treats. It's a nice little gesture...||When we arrived at the pod we were shown round by Ana (I think) who was lovely. She showed us the pull down bed, the bluetooth speaker in the ceiling and how to connect to it and the hot tub.||Our welcome 'box' was a bit lacklustre....normally we stay in airbnb's and get local produce, bread, drinks, milk, eggs etc and the accommodation is always fully equipped. The box contents were this: 10ml sample of washing up liquid, a tea towel, a dishcloth, a dish sponge and 2 bin bags. Hardly a welcome gift!!||We stayed Monday to Friday and it was lovely and quiet, incredibly picturesque and took our breath away with how stunning it all was....the only other issue we had while there was the boiler.||The Tuesday morning (our first real morning there) we had no pressure in the boiler and there was an error code on the LED display. We contacted the warden who turned out to be Nicole and she said someone would be round to fix it once reception was open. ||Sure enough he came, fixed the boiler, fussed the dogs and left. He did come back later that day just to say hello to them, and gave them sneaky treats. ||The staff are friendly enough, the park is lovely and quiet, just what we needed after working for weeks leading up to it. We all relaxed while there and went home feeling refreshed.||Overall it was a great stay!!

Had a lovely stay at Stratheck in one of the forest pods. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We loved the hot tub and views out from the pod. The park is really quiet which is exactly what we wanted and only a 10 minute drive from Hunters Quay for the entertainment and activities. Would recommend staying here if looking for a peaceful getaway, would probably advise Hunters Quay or Drimsynie if looking for a more lively atmosphere. ||We will definitely be back again!

The park were very accommodating and the staff are excellent. We had booked multiple pods for a family celebration and they went out of their way to facilitate everything (including throwing the birthday girl, who turned up unexpectedly early, off the scent). A stunning location and very nice accommodation.

We stayed in a forest pod it was clean , comfy and with the hot tub gave it that bit extra. The park itself was tidy , quiet and had a relaxed atmosphere that gave it a great place for a chilled out few days with plenty of beautiful scenery to enjoy while taking the dog long walks. Having the sister park Hunters Quay within 15 minutes drive to use the swimming pool and plan other activities was a great way to break up the days. Myself and my family will definitely be back.

Just returned from a great week here in a Forest Pod. Site is peaceful and location is amazing. All the staff were so friendly and attentive. As with other reviews Hunters Quay is just down the road which has all the facilities you need for the kids without having to stay there with the noise and amount of people if you are looking for a peaceful stay. The perfect combination.
