My husband and I moved to this surgery just over 2 years ago and have been very impressed with how we've been looked after by every member of staff we've seen, from receptionist, nurses, doctors and allied health care specialists.
Using the econsult, we have always had a response within a couple of hours and a date given for face to face consultation if needed.
Referrals have been made and followed up in impressive time frames.
There has always been a air of calmness in the waiting room on our visits, unlike our old surgery where stress prevailed.
The communication between the surgery and pharmacy has also been very good.
Thankyou to all at St Francis for restoring our faith in GP surgeries 🙂.

Terrible breach of and incorrect medical information sent for hospital referrals. Incorrect medical information recorded in notes which practice say cannot be removed. Incorrect diagnosis and medication can result putting patients at risk

As good as any other doctors surgery, but in the current climate, that isn’t a good. The only saving grace of the surgery is Catriona Knight (the ACP) who is a gem. She should teach the whole surgery about being trauma informed as they have no clue.
Any health issue women experience, their solution is to put you on the pill, wether related or no, not actually investigate the root. Again, understand this is probably due to pressure from above in the current climate. On top of that, I visited for a simple referral and it slipped through the cracks and took 5 weeks and multiple phone calls to finally be told it still hadn’t been sent. This is now detrimental to my PIP payments as I won’t have my evidence in time. The person whose job it is to do the referrals didn’t even know the place it goes to and spoke to me like I was the one who wasn’t understanding, until a Google search showed them otherwise. Good luck getting an appointment within 4 weeks at best and even better luck having that appointment be actually helpful.
The e-consult is very good at triaging and getting something seen urgently (although probably not by a doctor).

I thought I'd have no chance in getting appointments with a GP for my husband and I who both had terrible coughs. I called the surgery first thing in the morning and by 12:00 both of us had seen GPs and had appropriate prescriptions. Fantastic service!

Downgraded to one star, due to them taking ten weeks... TEN WEEKS... to deal with a simple but important DVLA query.

Downgraded to two stars, due to the increasingly aggressive and charmless gatekeeping process. At 8 o'clock every morning a new batch of two to four week ahead appointments, whatever that means, are released. Tough luck if you miss them. Furthermore, the system doesn't provide for matters that are of concern to patients but neither require an emergency appointment on the day nor can wait a month.

The surgery has a decent, but occasionally misdiagnosing triage system and communication between the front desk and medical staff is poor. The GPs are nearly all excellent but I've had a couple of disappointing failures to deliver on actions agreed. The repeat prescription service between the surgery and the pharmacy next door is patchy. It's not uncommon to have to go backwards and forwards until they decide who has the paperwork (it's usually the surgery). Waiting times to see your preferred GP (if you want or need continuity) are dreadful. I've had to barter the receptionist down from seven or eight weeks on a number of occasions but it's usually possible to get a telephone appointment quickly. A mixed bag; I wonder if they're struggling to cope with the additional patients inherited from the practice they recently acquired.

My son got an appointment quickly after chatting to staff as the first point of contact. He was seen that morning & we came away very happy with the efficiency at this doctors practice. I’ve always had a great service here & advice when needed.

In general I found the doctors here to be very good and the surgery itself is nice and clean. The reason for my 2 star review is the awful woman that works on reception, Karen. She is UNBELIEVABLY rude. I've seen her roll her eyes at patients and she has the most condescending and sarcastic voice I've ever witnessed when she's in a bad mood. I've been to the doctors 4 times, and all 4 times she's been rude to either me or another patient. I cannot believe she's not been fired yet, and it baffles me that she would ever take a job dealing with people face to face when she so clearly hates everyone. She makes me very uncomfortable, she's so uninviting and I am genuinely changing doctors surgery because of her. Absolutely awful woman.
