The climbing centre is well equipped. Very beginner friendly with helpful staff and plenty of easy climbs.

Shockingly poor. Was staying at Warwick as a conference guest and I was told the facilities are available for paying guests. Arrived at the sports centre, waited 15 mins to be let in at reception only to find that there’s nobody to let me in to the actual gym! Utterly shocking and the worst gym service I’ve seen. Facilities look nice though, just don’t expect to be able to use it!

I want to bring to your attention the current situation at the sports center.

While the facilities are indeed impressive and the entire center is very modern, it seems that the recent push to attract new members has resulted in overcrowding in the gym and fitness classes. As a result, it feels like paying for a subscription doesn't provide the value it used to.

I've tried going at different times, from 5 pm to close to the 10 pm closing time, and have consistently found the gym section to be overcrowded, with long queues for the machines. Therefore you mostly waste your time waiting. Also for some reason the free weights section lighting is very dimm off, close to dark...

Additionally, the new machines lack the exercise tracking technology that the previous machines had, which feels like a step back in terms of technology and functionality.

Furthermore, it's disappointing that it's no possible to purchase a gym membership without including access to the swimming facilities.
All that resulted in increased prices, with the monthly Gym and Swim membership now costing £56, up from around £38 three years ago. It's also frustrating that there are no options for shorter memberships, such as 3 or 6 months.

Overall, while the facilities and equipment are great, the decline in service quality due to overcrowding has made me reconsider renewing my subscription and exploring other options.

My fav gym at Coventry. Its spacious and the machine is great. Their swimming pool is also really great, they not use a warm water but still good. The cleanliness is top tier

Gym is good but I felt they do not turn on the heaters, the gym is extremely cold, are they trying to save money on electricity bills by cutting down the heating system?!! its extremely dangerous to train under cold conditions it could lead to cardiac arrest. I hope the management see this review and change their priority to customer welfare and safety. Please do let them know if anyone else felt the same way. Gym should be kept from 18-20 degrees Celsius in winter. I don't think it was anywhere nearer to that.

Although the facilities are impressive and the whole sporting centre is very modern (after spending millions you would hope so). Speaking as a student the prices are horrendous, especially if you compare it to other university facilities in the country (i.e. Bath). You cannot simply get a gym membership without the swimming included, which helps the centre bloat its prices up. The prices have gone up since I last came 2 years ago, the Gym and Swim monthly membership was around 40£ and now it has gone up to 50£. This and the lack of other options (3 months membership and 6 months membership are not available) are proof that they are trying to get every penny out of you. I would recommend for the facilities and equipment if you can afford it.
It is a shame because many students who would like to do sports are unable due to high prices.

The sports centre was once a great place to visit, but since the end of September 2024, my experience has been overwhelming. They launched a marketing campaign aimed at enrolling as many people as possible, without considering the facility's capacity. This has resulted in overcrowding at all times.

Booking a fitness class has become nearly impossible, as they are always full. In the gym, it often feels like you’re walking around just trying to find a free machine, and you'll likely have to queue for one, at all times. Additionally, finding an available locker or a spot to sit in the changing room has become a struggle.

Overall, my experience has been anything but pleasant lately. I question whether the membership is worth it, especially after the recent price hike. It was worth it before, but now, I would say it is not.

I brought my mum to climbing on 4th Feb. She was bit nervous before she tried it first time, but she loves it by the end of the day. The staffs are so nice and helpful! Really appreciate the patience and help 🙂
