Has total hip replacement surgery this month. The nursing staff were exceptional. Ken Ruby and Charmaine were ward nurses, nothing was too much trouble. Meds were on time, always and they couldn't do enough for me. One night I was a little unwell after surgery and there was someone in my room all through the night looking after me. The care was fantastic. Theatre staff were kind and respectful also. Kept me warm and covered which is important when you're vulnerable. I had a shoulder surgery here about seven years ago, and the food was phenomenal, this time however the food was diabolical. Lots of pasta bakes. Food really let it down. I was very disappointed. There was no steak on the menu as before, no wine list. Absolutely beige food. Not a lot better than nhs

Online booking system double charged for consultation. 2 weeks of emails, unanswered. Numerous telephone calls. Responses were polite but ineffective. Yet to receive the overpayment. Would I use Spire again? Absolutely not. Treatment received was good, but they already had my card details, so of course it would be. However if you want reimbursement for an overpayment, you'll be waiting some time. Comments from the last call after I apologised for 'shooting the messenger' were 'it's not the first time, and won't be the last'. Leads me to believe this happens frequently!! Complaint has been raised and I await my refund......
Clearly they don't actually read the reviews otherwise they would be aware that a complaint has already been raised!!!!!!
3 days after being assured my refund has been authorised and will be credited within 24 hours, I'm still waiting.....

Spent 3 days here after a procedure all the staff were fantastic pleasant and polite and very caring special thankyou to Jess, Natalie, sherry they were brilliant, food was awesome
Nothing was too much trouble for any member, only gripe was aircon didn’t work in room but was ok, I wasn’t to bothered about leaving tbh. As I wouldn’t get the same service at home 😊 Best wishes

Not a good experience as a referred NHS patient. I actively chose this provider to carry out knee joints ( yes both) replacement surgery. The surgeon indicated it would be around 2 months. Now I learn I am not on any waiting list. Abandoned. The impact of this setback has left me beyond despair. If you are NHS do not choose this Spire..

Dr Hodgkinson was checking her phone throughout our consultation, stating "my son is having a mental health crisis" several times.
Said "Can I call you back, my son's school is calling". Repeated herself frequently - absentminded. If you're looking for a Dr's full attention and to feel 'seen', look elsewhere.

My mum has just had an operation in this spire (she’s had quite a lot of ops) I can hand on heart say that from her surgeon Mr Gardner to the people taking food orders nothing was to much trouble. Jess was the nurse who checked mum in and looked after her from the time we went in 7.30am till the end of her shift 12 hours later , always happy, kind, helpful. Even whilst mum was in her op she popped in to see if I was ok (not expected but very much appreciated) . Mum has had Mr Gardner before for another op and he’s lovely , very approachable, professional and kind.

I have had both NHS & private treatment at this hospital and can only applaud the clinical staff for their compassion, kindness and professionalism. I have felt looked after every step of the way from the consultant to the student nurses.
A very small number of admin staff have not lived up to the reputation the clinicians set for this hospital but for the amount of personnel they have, I guess that's a fair representation.
I would not hesitate to choose this hospital again if given the option.

I had a consultation with Dr Cox regarding the bones in my wrist. He was polite, knowledgeable and helped me understand possible causes of the problem. Getting in contact with the orthopaedic team was easy and they were very cordial. I would recommend this department at Spire.
I needed an MRI scan as part of my treatment and was transferred to the MRI department. It was more difficult getting in contact with them, and the person who answered was unpleasant. She was only the third person I shared my pregnancy news with (out of necessity) and she was so rude and demeaning, I was quite upset after disclosing it to her.
