Can’t understand why this hospital has got low reviews? My fiancé came here to do a DVLA heart fitness test and from the moment we arrived in reception the staff there were very friendly and polite to us. My fiancé then went on his test and received very good care from the nurse. We have to return again. Added bonus is here the parking is free and there are disabled bays right outside the reception entrance. Thank you for a very good service.

I've just been in today and had and inguinal hernia repaired. The experience was made so much better for me being at spires. The staff were fantastic and very caring. I was incredibly nervous as I've never had surgery before, or put under general anesthetic. I was made to feel very comfortable and instantly felt I could put my trust in everyone. A very intimidating experience was made so much easier thanks to everyone at spires. Dr Sedman did a brilliant job of key hole surgery and I woke up feeling pretty good much to my surprise. I was back in my room in just under an hour from going under!
The whole process from the very start was excellent with tip top communication from the get go.

Thanks to everyone at spires today. Lovely experience coming to you. I will without doubt recommend anyone to use spires.

The best! I had spinal block injections today and the surgeon plus the staff helping him was so lovely! They helped me through my fear even held my hands. Absolutely lovely people. If it wasn't for them been so nice and accommodating I dont think I could of had it done

Had a hernia operation At spire Hull .
Mr Prashant Jain performed the procedure .
I have never felt more safe in someone care , he is an outstanding surgeon and a true gentleman.
The operation went smoothly and the results out standing, now pain free from my groin Hernia. All the administration staff are truly lovely and the nurses were wonderful too . I would recommend the spire 100% and also Mr Jain

Despite some communications issues and confusing changing times the day before my surgery, I had a lovely experience here, and the staff have always been lovely every time I've been in. Props and respect to the staff, and docs particularly! While the admin team certainly confused me a bit, they were all so nice.

I have had two appointments at the Spire
as an NHS patient. One to see Mr Bahl, the neurosurgeon, who also phoned me with an update twice. He was professional, friendly, approachable and informative. Today I attended for steroid injections in my neck with Dr Maliakal and his team. Faultless treatment from every single member. All the same attributes that I applied to Mr Bahl.
Receptionists are also friendly and helpful.

I made an enquiry via email and specifically said to only contact me via email, not by phone, im usually very busy during office hours so i almost always miss calls.
Although this time i did manage to catch it as they rang right as i was finishing my break only to be hung up on as soon as i answered, then i got an email saying they didnt manage to ring me and that i would have to ring them instead?
You would think if they can send an email for that then they could just contact me by email anyway.
Why have an option to chose how you are contacted if you only accept calls.

Nothing short of disappointing. Even with ongoing health issues, the complaints resolution process is less than desirable. Even with a second opinion from a different Spire healthcare hospital, concerns are not listened to or taken seriously. Despite private healthcare insurance, this hospital have left me back in the care of NHS sat waiting months for an MRI and no further forward with a condition which has left me debilitated and unable to work, not to mention the clear disregard for patients' expectations and mental wellbeing.

UPDATE Jan 2025: never resolved and never heard from "Patient Experience", instead I ended with a terminal diagnosis and rage. Avoid this place, for your own safety.
