I visit Spencer House as a health care professional several times a week and have done so for approximately 5 months. I find the staff very welcoming, helpful and a friendly environment to work in. The residents I visit are very complimentary about the staff and the care they receive. Thank you to all at SH for making me feel so welcome.

My mum has been in Spencer house for 3 and a half years now. The care she receives is second to none. Every member of staff I have encountered has been friendly and caring. She is happier and healthier than ever before. The whole team do an amazing job. The care home itself is like a hotel, it is lovely and clean and comfortable. I am 100% happy with our choice of care home for our Mum.

If you want to have peace of mind when a loved one moves into a Care Home then Spencer House will provide that. The kindness that the team show and the expertise they have is second to none. My father has found a new lease of life here. It's spotlessly clean with beautiful decor and the food is of a restaurant quality. It has a real family feel and there are many activities throughout the week. Dad also enjoys the in-house cinema. I live outside the UK and Skype regularly with dad and they are always so helpful in setting up the ipad for him. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Spencer House to anyone and am very grateful to the whole team who take care of my dad so well.

My mum was sent here, it's clean and like a hotel, meals to her room when she wasn't well were never what she ordered, carers were ok but the staff included management were cruel, my mum died suddenly it was the Christmas period I took the carers presents, I had just come from seeing mum die at the hospital and was devastated, i asked if I could sit in her room for a few minutes her glasses were still there on her table as they didn't send them with her, the presents were snatched off me, I was told to sit in the window behind the Christmas tree out of the way, I was told no you can't go and sit on her bed not even supervised they were really nasty and made me cry, they didn't say sorry for your loss, beware this home is only after money and don't care about people's feelings!

My Mum has complex physical health needs and when my Dad developed dementia they were struggling to live safely at home, even with the support of a live-in carer. They came to Spencer House for respite care, but it soon became clear that their quality of life was vastly improved (as was mine) and they have now moved into a beautiful suite with all of the comforts of home. The suite is open plan with sleeping area, living area, dining area, kitchenette and ensuite. Spencer House is well staffed with wonderful individuals who always go the extra mile, from the fantastic management team to the lovely laundry lady who knew my parents' names from day one. There is entertainment every day and my parents say the food is good. There are communal dining and living areas on each floor and I've just left them in their suite having a cup of tea with a visiting resident. My parents differing needs are both well met and I can't recommend Spencer House highly enough; it is such a huge relief to know that my parents are so well cared for.

Until moving to Spencer House in October 2019, my wife was in a different care home, so she and I have experienced different levels of care and is therefore able to make genuine evaluations of this care home.
Spencer House is a beautiful home; the first thing you notice on entering the building is the high-quality look of the furnishings, which continues throughout the building.
The receptionists are very polite and make you feel very welcome, this is mirrored by all the carers, nurses and admin staff making the home very welcoming and a reassuring place to live.
Food is of a restaurant standard and there is a good selection of meals on the daily menu.
My wife requires a certain level of nursing and believes that she is well looked after and is very happy at Spencer House, the management and staff should be very proud of what they’ve achieved and how happy they make people feel.

We have found Spencer House to be an excellent Care Home so far. My mother has been very well looked after, the staff are very friendly and so welcoming and supportive of residents and their family. They work hard to make it an interesting and happy environment while also promoting the residents to be as independent as possible.

Spencer House is an excellent Care Home, the staff are always polite and helpful and the residents are well cared for and happy.

I visit many Care Homes on a regular basis and I would rate Spencer House as consistently one of the best.

The Activities program is superb, the residents not only appear to really enjoy the wide range of activities on offer but benefit from them as well.
