UPDATE ….following a call from the store after this review had been seen by them, the frames are now being changed free of charge, so star rating upgraded. ***

Got new glasses here 11 months ago, chose some of their most expensive frames, this morning the side fell off when I picked them up, the joint had failed. Took them into store expecting a free repair, told it would cost me £50 to put the lenses into new frame, or I could glue them together !!! Absolutely astounding that they do not guarantee their frames for normal wear and tear. Been using them 12 years plus, now going elsewhere.

Excellent staff who give you the right amount of attention, are friendly and explain what they're doing.

Terrible, Stamford Specsavers are rip off merchants, fitted wrong prescription after eye test and wouldn’t change or refund £300+ absolutely disgusting service. So called manager had such an attitude even though it was him who we dealt with was so obnoxious I’m surprised he has a job, didn’t want to listen or help sort the problem

On Saturday 18 May my partner went to collect her new glasses from this branch, as usual the staff were very attentive and all was good, however, when we returned home my partner decided that she didn’t like the frames on one pair of the three pairs she had purchased so we went back to the store to ask if they could be exchanged only to be spoken to by the “manager” in a rude and obnoxious manner, I quote “well you chose them, it’s not our fault” at which point my partner became upset and said “how rude!” I then asked to speak to the manager as I felt he was being very obnoxious and I wanted to make a complaint! He then smirked and said “I am the manager, go and chose some frames and we’ll get them changed” as we were looking for alternative frames my partner heard the manager making snide comments about us to his staff! To which my partner responded “we can hear you!” To which we heard further unintelligible comments, we chose a new frame and were told they would be ready by next Saturday, on arriving home my partner had a voicemail from the lovely young woman who had served her stating that the glasses were ready and could be collected whenever we were ready. Went back today and collected them, the manager saw us walk in, totally ignored us and went to the back of the shop, only emerging as we were leaving.
Top score for the staff minus 50 for the manager, obnoxious attitude and oh so rude!

Massive disappointment, booked an appointment to get my glasses fitted and was booked in for 1:15, I arrived at 1:10 to be told the person that fits the glasses is on lunch and I would have to wait till 2pm, I have a job that I needed to get back to so couldn’t wait, please sort out your booking system and liaise better with your staff members on when to take breaks, not one apology either. 👎

Had a quick, professional appointment in which time I was helped by Rachel, Neil and Ian. Had an eye test, a health check, fitted and purchased a new pair of glasses with expert advice and was all done in just half an hour. Excellent service.

Went in with snapped frame, asked if I could get lenses put into new frame, was told by the lady no, you'll have to go homebase and get some glue...which I found strange, didn't even check lens size or check if they could, I asked would anywhere else help, she said no one would be able to sort that. Made my way to vision express and had unbelievable service, couldn't of been more helpful, brand new frames and they even put in brand new lenses.

After a call and a text to remind me of my appointment, I arrived to find the optician in doesn't do contact lenses checks. I would have to do the eye test and rebook. I rarely wear glasses so it was a waste of my limited time. Even more so that I pay over £350 a year for this poor service. Not worth the money and effort.
