Wonderful! From start to finish- yes currently parking is free! Day surgery team from check in to discharge were wonderful- I will name check as many as I can when I write my thank you card- but just wanted to say- never judge a book by its cover- this hospital is patient focused and the standard of care is excellent ❤️

I rang the booking service at Southlands Hospital today and spoke to Louise. Unfortunately we were cut off and she very kindly rang me back. She was so helpful and patient regarding my enquiry and I would like to thank her for her kindness at this difficult time for the NHS and booking appointments in general.

I have visited here today and only fair to start with the good points, the staff are friendly polite on time and faultless. Fantastic! Thank you. The car park on the other hand is very confusing,all the usual signage that car park is pay and display at all times. Yet machines all say car park is free and will not accept cards or money all very confusing. Do you or do you not pay! But you can’t! Lots of people I passed all seem as me confused.

Had a really awful experience today in the ultrasound department 😔 I suffer with hidden disabilities and wear a lanyard, the lady that did the ultrasound and the nurse were very cold and matter of a fact about everything I have never felt so uncomfortable , this was made under the 2wk rule yet they were so unfriendly and Sharon the lady that did the ultrasound left me with “ it’s nothing too alarming so don’t worry “, I said well there must be something wrong if you said Nothing too alarming of which the nurse snapped and said “ Sharon has told you ! You have to get the results from your doctor! Why tell me something to worry me when it would of been best to say nothing 😔 I felt totally uncared for in which could be something quite serious, Alice the receptionist who I spoke to about it after as did my carer was really lovely and tried to reassure me not to worry, Now I am worrying as that’s how Sharon and the nurse has left me 😔

I went to southlands yesterday to the day surgery unit to have three wisdom teeth removed under general anesthetic. everyone who took care of me was amazing and made me feel so much more at ease even though it was my first ever operation and i have anxiety especially around medical things. the nurses who looked after me on the ward were brilliant, Jackie especially stands out to me as she made me feel so calm and confident. she took me up to theatre and was so amazing. she made it so much easier. the surgeon took me in and made me feel really comfortable as she was chatting to me about what i enjoy and it put me at ease. the anaesthetist was brilliant and made me feel calm. the surgeon even held my hand as i fell asleep. i couldn’t of asked for better care. they made this whole experience a million times easier. i cannot recommend this hospital enough. thank you so much to everyone who made this day a lot better for me. i’ll definitely recommend your services.

Southland Hospital great . No much rush . Day surgery ,diagnostic and consultation are main there. Cafeteria Costa is there I ordered frappie coffee cream the worst ...0/10 horrible. Why Costa why.. but otherwise Hospital service are really good .
