Smile Dental Care

I had previously been quoted approximately £5000 and payment plans at a private dentist in Southampton, which I feel led me along with hygienists, expensive x-rays, consultations, the bombshell quote and then extreme pain I knew would eventually come. A friend suggested I go to Smile Dental Care and it was the opposite. They really helped me out. They booked me in for an emergency slot, diagnosed my issues, gave me anti biotics which solved the pain until my main visit which I was dreading. I can’t believe that after a root canal and extraction, both of which were entirely painless, excluding the injections which are always horrible, I can now actually say, for the first time in my life, I really like my dentist (and nurse), they’re great. The receptionists are clearly super busy and yes there was an error with my booking but it was resolved quickly. They’ve been nothing other than helpful and efficient and I have no complaints only praise. Oh, and the price? About 100th of what I’d been previously quoted.

Whilst the dentists are good and offer good treatment, actually getting seen is becoming an issue. Me and my partner (who see the dentists at very different times) have both had our last 2 appointments cancelled very last minute. I understand that things change but it's getting ridiculous. What really frustrates me though, is that I was 10 minutes late to an appointment a couple of years ago, because I read the wrong appointment text message, and they refused to see me at all, but it's okay for them see me later than my appointment or completely cancel my appointment of the day. They expect grace and understanding, but cannkt afford it to their patients. I can't afford private dental care so I am unfortunately stuck in this situation and just have to deal with it.

Every single time I have an appointment booked, it gets cancelled a day before the date and rescheduled. Now it seems they like to cancel on the day right when you pitch up. What's more, you don't even get acknowledged when you greet the receptionist. This has to be the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Reception is dirty, pieces of old printed paper stuck everywhere. Absolutely an embarrassment of a dental clinic.

Brilliant service ever time. Receptionists are happy, friendly and professional, dentists are absolutely lovely especially Tom and Michelle. And I’ve had 2 emergencies for my child and they’ve been so accommodating. The children like going to the destiny which says everything. Honestly so pleased we signed up to this dentist especially when I’ve heard about others in the area.

Up until now I have always been pleased with my treatment here. However, i have been trying to phone to book a check up for my family over the past few weeks and no-one ever picks up the phone. I've tried so many times and left two messages...no-one gets back to me. What's going on Smile? Not great. Also, have to add that on our last visit I thought the reception team could do with some customer service training. They ignored me whilst i was stood waiting to speak to them and carried on with their own personal conversation. When they did eventually speak to me any hint of a "smile" was sadly lacking....ironic really.

If I didn't have to give a star I absolutely wouldn't.. I left 1 dentist that was awfulwith getting through on the phone and getting appointments to going to theses guys and they are even worse..iv a child that's needed a extraction a long while but because they keep canceling it's turned into an infection around the gum n had to see an out if hour dentist who where better to then call and make another appointment took a week to get through for them to cancel it again..the receptionist lies and then hangs up when been caught out...the place is a joke! On the search for a new dentist! Do not bother using these poorly run and time wasters!

Dentist and Orthodontist excellent however the receptionists ! rude grumpy and very unhelpful, if it wasn't for my daughters treatment already commenced we would def go elsewhere! you are customer facing so perhaps tell your face that !

Dentist cancelled once then rearranged when we went to rearranged appointment that was cancelled without telling us. Receptionist are awful 11 phones calls in 1 day to check if appointment was still ok but no answer sent a email and this was ignored to.
