Slaithwaite Health Centre is brilliant. I always seem to end up seeing the same GPs, both Dr Olivers and Dr Ferguson who are all fantastic and seem to genuinely care. I’ve never struggled to get a same day appointment if required, they have a great service where prescriptions can be delivered to your door and the responses to the E consult forms are very quick. All the staff are lovely. Highly recommend.

I asked at reception to see some of my records from the 1950's and the older lady with long grey hair (Dawn?) was very obliging and efficient. She appeared within a few minutes with the details I required & said she'd update my records. Thankyou.

Probably one of the best GP / Health Centres I've ever been registered at. Not sure why it's got a low rating as they are excellent, particularly in comparison to the majority of other GP services.

Great GP practice. As a practice nurse myself for a different surgery I am aware of the immense pressure the NHS and primary care is currently under. This surgery is (although very busy) very good at getting patients in for appointments when appropriate and dealing with less urgent reviews over the phone. I have had no issues with requesting my medication or seeing a doctor when needed. Reception sometimes do sound stressed but they are always polite and the nurse I saw recently for travel vaccinations was friendly and professional. All in all I think they're doing a great job in the current climate.

Anyone who complains about this place clearly hasnt been anywhere else. Never known such friendly, hardworking and caring staff at a GP surgery. Quick to be seen, practical solutions offered and good opening hours. Keep up the great work!

Compared to my previous surgery (in Golcar which I had been a patient at since 1988!!) There is NO comparison! SHC have actually been brilliant with me! (Taking me on with all my ailments and conditions would be enough to scare ANY surgery off taking me on!.....joke.............
XD. )
It had got to the stage at my previous GP's where it was like going back 24 years and starting all over again! Plus the GP's who I did see ( I Never knew their names cos they never introduced themselves!?) Just Never listened to me! Trying to prescribe me medications that I was allergic to or had adverse effects!!
I got more done at SHC in the first few months than I got done in the past 3-4 years at my previous surgery!! So did my spouse!
The Surgery Staff are always Helpful, Friendly and understanding!
We Both feel so much better knowing that we're listened to and understood by Staff and health care professionals, who take our concerns seriously!!
I feel so much happier at SHC knowing they have got my best interests at heart 😉

Having moved to the area after being with a very subpar surgery for a few years, what a breath of fresh air this is. The surgery itself is spotlessly clean, reception staff are very friendly, and incredibly helpful despite all NHS services being critically understaffed. Having been with the surgery a while now, some of the doctors and all the nurses have been empathetic, kind and patient. Some of the practice partners unfortunately are not particularly good doctors, it seems some of their knowledge is out of date and their bedside manner could be better. The newer doctors however are great and have been helpful. I'm sure that like any overstretched NHS service right now they would struggle at peak times or perhaps urgent services, and yes of course the phone system has a queue when it's busy, but for managing ongoing conditions they've been great and at quiet times the phone is picked up quickly.

I've read the reviews about one particular receptionist, today I called in, the surgery is in the middle of building works and has a temporary reception. Dawn dealt with several patients, answering the phone and messaging colleagues with great professionalism, others would have crumpled under the stress. She also welcomed new patients to the practice. Well done to Dawn. Thank you.
