I have only the best experience to share. I came to see doctor with my health concerns and my problem was solved, I got appointment quickly. Never had issues with this practice, always high standard in comparison to other practices where I have been before.

Shirehampton GP gets 2 stars because if you manage to get to speak to a doctor they're pretty good.

The receptionists are rude, incompetent and entirely unwilling to be helpful. It pains me to know my taxes contribute to their salary.

Waited 9 days for an e-consult that didn't happen. 48 hrs they are claiming they respond on the telephone recording also.
I have a reminder 9 days later saying I should be waiting for a call from 5.45 am!! Who wakes that early for a call when you work til late. Since when do doctors work from that time? I'm absolutely 💯 disgusted with the lack of care. They can't be that busy because they don't even offer appointments anymore. Useless service. Still in the same predicament I was when I rang 9 days ago. Nothing been resolved. I rang today still no call back.

To be honest I'm parshley deaf and I think that if a doctor comes out to call your name I think they should also knock on the bathroom door just incase if you have been to the bathroom because they only call your name one or twice, but because the bathrooms are so far down you might not hear them because the door is shut or when you have flushed because it can be loud.

I want to add to comments I posted a couple of years ago (see below)

This morning, I went to the surgery for a blood test. I was feeling miserable and grumpy for reasons totally unrelated to the GP practice! However, Jackie and Jack were so pleasant, friendly and welcoming that I left feeling cheerful. I wanted to post this, just to say how much I appreciated having people lift my spirits. Thank you very much!

I have been impressed so far with the service provided. I have just moved to the area, so I submitted a new patient form to the receptionist staff. Within 3 days I was registered and my notes had been transferred. I told the receptionist Noreta Fitzgerald I would like to see a doctor as soon as possible about a skin problem. She sent a link to my phone so that I could submit a photo, and within a couple of hours Shelly Joseph (practitioner nurse) called me back and said she would arrange an appointment with a GP. The next day she phoned me again and offered the appointment. Only 6 days from submitting my form to the appointment date.
Everyone I have spoken to has been pleasant and helpful. Thank you

I'm with this Group Practice many of the years. Honestly I can say that I appreciate the everything I received in the past years . Doctors are understanding,supportive and caring also receptionists doing best to help allocate to the place I always needed.
I'm confident that I would never change my mind about going somewhere else simply because I feel safe and protected by them.

It's honestly starting to drive me crazy. You can't get appointments anymore unless you book over a month in advance. I have a call soon from an e consult I put in 2 weeks ago for my declining depression, but because everyone is being forced to call even if they should be seen people like me have to wait WEEKS for any sort of help. My mum got misdiagnosed not that long ago for a physical health concern because the check was over the phone! It's bloody laughable.

We often speak about bad experiences and omit good ones, I must admit I didn't use to think highly of this Practice until I truly needed help (which I didn't realise at the time) with a severe post-natal depression over 3 years ago.
I remember feeling quite scared and demotivated (thinking "what's the point", but my Health Visitor told me to call GP asap) and the Receptionist put me at ease, she was empathetic, non-judgemental and professional, the GP used diagnostic tools and put me on meds pretty immediately, checked on me regularly over the phone, referred to Perinatal Mental Health Team who were also brilliant and with help of Shirehampton Group Practice, PMH Team and my family- I fully recovered. Now 3 years on, my little one is thriving and I am a happy, working Mum. When I look back I realise how truly low I was and I am very grateful for the care and treatment I received from Shirehampton Group Practice at extremely difficult and distressing time for me.
It goes to show you don't always have to perform a CPR to be saving somebody's life. THANK YOU for saving mine.
