This probably best experience of medical care I’ve experienced including private. Speaking to a Dr who remembers your case, is aware of your history and has clearly thought about your condition since you last spoke is a new experience for me. The reception team are friendly and helpful. Waiting is kept to a minimum. I’ve been seen by Dr. Wood is excellent.

Timewasters.

The nurse took a blood draw unnecessarily, which was then not analysed. The same nurse also told me she "thought it would hurt less" if she shoved a 14 gauge needle in my abdomen as slowly as humanly possible. The bruise didn't heal for over 3 weeks.

I attended a monthly appointment (same nurse!) only to be informed my medication hadn't arrived. Apparently it wasn't possible to ascertain this fact ahead of me coming into the surgery. Now I'm looking forward to a totally preventable flare-up of a debilitating chronic condition, with no apology.

This nurse has just been promoted to Practice Nurse.

The GP told me he would only make a referral for an assessment for one particular condition if I could give him evidence from an online survey that I met the criteria. I asked for a link. "Anything you find" he said. Even Buzzfeed? "Whatever."

Clown car service from low-accountability, incurious and disorganised people.

Absolutely brilliant surgery. Dr Gracia is warm, attentive, goes out of his way and always gives 100% to myself and family. Reception are great also. Follow ups and communication overall is always exceptional. 100 stars

My elderly mum registered with Ship Street Surgery a few years' ago. She has always been treated with care, kindness and dignity by all the staff from the reception team to the GPs.
Her health declined during the Covid-19 pandemic, but the surgery continued to provide outstanding care and support.
We never had problems contacting the surgery and we knew that whether we left a message with the reception team or by email, it would be picked up and dealt with and we would receive an appropriate response within a reasonable timeframe.
This has been immensely reassuring as mum has become more frail in recent months. Dr Gracia, in particular, has been very helpful and kind in always ensuring that he talks to me as well as to mum and has patiently answered my many questions.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ship Street Surgery and we thank all the staff working there for their support over the years.

Dr.Gracia is a very good doctor who listens to me and I can trust him. The staff is also helpful although I had an incident once that lasted long time as there were miscommunication with the hospital on how they should be reffering patients (fax or email). Anyhow, after few complaints on how they were handling it, they found out the mistake. I would have therefore given less score but considering that I am a patient for 14 years and I think 5 stars it is.
