It's always worth a visit for nostalgia. Oh, and the toilets are good. The pub looks OK but haven't eaten there yet.

Scarborough Spa is a Grade II* listed building in South Bay, Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England. It is a venue for conferences, exhibitions, entertainment, live music and events on the Yorkshire Coast. Originally built around the source of Scarborough's spa waters, it is owned and managed by Scarborough Borough Council.

The Spa has a Grand Hall, which seats 1,500 and hosts live entertainment including the Scarborough Spa Orchestra and the annual Scarborough Jazz Festival. The Spa Theatre, a 557-seat Victorian theatre, is home to summer season shows and Christmas pantomimes. The Spa Ocean Room is used for dances, conferences and other events, including the Scarborough Jazz Festival and Coastival.

The Victorian Cliff Tramway is a funicular railway that links the Spa complex with South Cliff, 200 ft above the South Bay.

We had our wedding at Scarborough spa in May 2024 and it was brilliant from start to finish but I have to say the lead up 12 months before that also went like a dream. Naomi is the best event organiser I have ever met (having been one I have met a few) and she goes above and beyond and thinks of every little detail. Even small things like putting the picture of my deceased step farther on the registrars desk for the ceremony and then back in the suite for the reception. Really meaningful touches.
The staff through out were also incredible during the set up and on the day. Everyone seemed to really enjoy their job and that shone through and many of our guests commented.
The venue itself is brilliant, so many places for fabulous pictures although I have to say we were absolutely blessed with the weather.
The backdrop in many of our photos looks unreal - with the blue skies and sea sitting in the backdrop of our speeches photos it almost looks like a fake back drop its that perfect - just beautiful.
Would highly recommend this venue for any function but especially a wedding. Thank you Naomi and Team for making our day so very special.

Fantastic multipurpose venue. Staff are friendly and helpful, it's always clean and well presented. The only real issues are with sightlines of stages, especially the balcony in the main hall, which unless you're directly face on, gives a largely obstructed side view. Also on big weekend events, the kitchens will usually run out of food long before the advertised cut off time. It happens far too often for it to be a one off.

Otherwise it's a lovely venue with tremendous sea views to boot!

We visited Scarborough Spa for a wedding and it was gorgeous!
The ceremony was held in an open top inside/outside area that made the most of the sunny, warm weather yet shielded is from the sea breeze.
Inside had been set up with multiple tables for the wedding guests, a dance floor and an open space around the bar.
The prices of drinks were reasonable and the quality of the food (we had fish n chips) was really good.
The staff were friendly and polite and to top it off, the location of the venue was a stones throw from the beach and within a ten minute walk of various hotels.
Would recommend.

Here for Fortress metal music festival - only the second one ever. Cannot fault this as a venue. We were very lucky with the weather it has to be said. Venue is 'well used' but everything is in order, Friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of bars and the cafe has a decent menu - ate twice.
Seems to have lots of stuff coming up, the locals appreciate having this facility. The main hall and smaller theatre are classy Victorian spaces, the ocean room is a more modern space - like a big function room but ideal fit a second rock stage too. Brilliant.

Had a lovely teddy bear picnic orchestra experience in the outdoor venue, the place has a really good vibe. Had a nice lunch at the restaurant attached. Generally we really liked this area of Scarborough.
