Thank you to Prof Luff amazing team. I had an upgrade lens to correct my astigmatism and short sight which was compounded by cataracts in both eyes. The procedure was completely painless and the results are wonderful. I no longer have to carry around 2 pairs of glasses and no longer have to depend on contact lens which were also causing my dry eyes. My experience with Sapphire Eye Care was excellent from my first consultation to my 6 week follow up. At my first appointment, Mr Luff asked me what I would like the result of having my cataracts removed - my reply was to not have to wear glasses or contacts again. Mr Luff then recommended a particular type of lens and explained the whole procedure to me. On the day of the procedure the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and efficient and I felt very comfortable about what was going to happen. I was having both eyes done and the nursing staff and the Anaesthetist explained what was going happen and put me completely at ease. During the two procedures I felt no pain or discomfort and all I can remember is Mr Luff and the Anaesthetist talking to me and looking at a bright light. In no time at all I was back in my room with plastic guards over my eyes. When I got home everything was a little fuzzy, but in no time at all I could see shapes and was able to watch the television. I kept the plastic guards on overnight for a couple of days. By day two I was able to read perfectly well. The first two days my daughter helped me with the eye drops as I couldn’t see which ones to use, but after that I had no problem with them at all and the charts they provided were extremely helpful. I am delighted to day that I can see perfectly and have no need for glasses or contacts which was the result I was hoping for. I would recommend Mr Luff and his team to anyone.

I was very worried about having an operation on my eye. A friend who had a similar problem had a bad experience with another surgeon. Andrew Luff was very reassuring and I felt in safe hands. I had thought that I would need a general anaesthetic so I would be unaware of what was happening, but he said I would be fine with a local anaesthetic and sedation. He was absolutely right that the procedure was painless, and seemed to be over very quickly. I was not at all anxious whilst he conducted the procedure. Andrew's team were most professional and caring, so on the day of the operation everything went smoothly. The recovery was exactly as he described, and the result is marvellous. All three issues with my eyesight have been completely resolved. I would have no reservation in recommending Andrew, particularly if, like me, you are worried about the procedure.

Floaters, in both eyes, started impacting my life around 4 years ago. At first, I went to my optician, was referred to my GP and then to the local hospital’s eye department. I was informed by the ophthalmologist there, that although my floaters were very apparent, there was nothing the health service could do, and besides procedure for moving them was risky. They said that they might go away in time. I left it for another couple of years, but they were worsening and impacting both my ability to drive (especially at night) and my reading. I went to see Mr Luff at Sapphire Eye Care where I was relieved to hear that he could solve the problem with a simple procedure. I felt under no pressure to have it done and he explained the risks involved which were extremely minimal. I went ahead with the procedure in the eye where the floaters were most prominent. The whole experience was painless and efficient. I was out of the hospital in 4 hours, and the procedure itself didn't last more than half an hour. After a few days of painless recovery, the eye settled down, and I now have no floaters! This has transformed my life, and I'm so grateful. The procedure was painless, and the recovery was very straightforward and took less than a week. I'll be forever grateful to Mr Luff and his team for making such a positive difference to my life.
