First time using this chemist since moving to the area and wow, I’ve never experienced anything like it. You walk in and you’re instantly hit with moodiness. No greeting such as ‘hello, sorry won’t be a second’ you just stand there ignored. Once you’re eventually called to the counter, there’s no please or thank you. The lady having multiple conversations whilst dealing with you. Pure rudeness.
Tells you waiting time is 10 mins. I was stood there 40 minutes with a baby in my arms and they finally come to tell me 1/3 creams were unavailable but other 2 are ready in 2 mins. Waited another 12 mins until I had enough and said I’ll get them tomorrow.
Whilst waiting you can see other members get treated the same and their frustration with the service.
Staff members talking about a customer who they thought were gone but he was stood waiting and heard everything they said about him (which he made clear he heard them)
Staff are unwelcoming, ignorant and rude. If they were open and honest about being short staffed and there’s a bit of a wait, you know what to expect and can come back to collect prescriptions.

Tried to get a doctors appointment, couldn’t, they advised me to go to see a pharmacist, after waiting 20 minutes to see her she advised me that the mediation I am on ‘should be ok’ but wouldn’t prescribe me anything else known to be safer and said I needed to see a doctor, but as previously stated I can’t get in to see the doctor. So now what?!

Takes them 24+ times to answer the phone, staff are so rude and do the bare minimum to help you, chemist is located in the same building as the GP surgery, yet they never have the prescriptions that the GP have sent over and instead of walking 3 metres down the hall OR emailing eachother, they require the patient to call for a long code of numbers and letters from the GP to then call and repete it back to the chemist which is not an easy task. Absolute SHAMBLES, needs changing to a competent chemist.

I have been in Tingley for around 4 months now and transferred to local doctors and pharmacy, not had any issues so far with the pharmacy as both staff had been helpful whenever I have gone in, always been able to get my prescription and only had to wait a short amount of time depending on the time you go in if it’s busy.

I recently visited Rowlands chemist to speak to the pharmacist for advice, as I had a rash on my back that had been getting worse over the week, I showed it to the staff member behind the counter and she called over the pharmacist, a lady who I have seen working there before.
I showed her the rash which was very painful and looked very bad with a lot of blisters, she had a quick glance, asked no questions, and without addressing me she indicated some steroid cream to the staff member.
I used the cream for 2 more days, and it had no affect at all, as the rash and the pain continued to worsen, up to the point that I had to leave work early to get an emergency appointment at the doctors.
The doctor took one look and diagnosed shingles, and then asked me why I hadn't come to see him earlier, when I explained about my visit to the pharmacist, he was amazed and said that she should have recognised it as shingles immediately as it was so obvious, the incompetance of this pharmacist cost me time in getting the treatment that I required.
I definitely question the level of knowledge of this pharmacist, where she actually trained and acquired her certification and does she need retraining, if she can't recognise a basic ailment that the doctor stated that she should have been able to spot straight away.
And maybe she could take a course in good manners and customer assistance at the same time as she came across as very rude.

Long queues, rude, arrogant staff who just glare at you from behind their safe little dispensing counter, discussing their personal life extremely loudly.

How can a pharmacy operate without a pharmacist? On several occasions I've been in to collect a prescription to be told "the pharmacist isn't here yet"

Judging by the many other poor reviews I'm not the only one having issues with this place.

Whoever is ultimately responsible for managing this chemist needs to consider whether or not they are up to the job as clearly things are not working well.
