It has been my Mum's good fortune to live in Roundham for almost 6 years. The wonderful staff have loved and looked after her whether she us on a good day or a bad night. Dementia is a very difficult process to cope with but they manage it with care, respect, kindness, patience, dignity and a sense of humour too. The kitchen staff provide wonderful meals which are freshly prepared with top ingredients every meal. They even manage to present Mum's pureed food as a meal with separately pureed vegetables, meat or fish portion and potato! I also would be lost without their support.
The home itself is a lovely place, like a very grand house inside. A homely atmosphere and not clinical or impersonal. Room for residents to move about with different places other than the main large lounge to sit and chat or be quiet. It is nice for visitors to enjoy too without necessarily having to go to a bedroom. The grounds are excellent with amazing views over the Bay and Roundham Gardens from the sun terrace. As beautiful as anywhere abroad. The Torbay Air Show is fantastic from here, but for residents and their visitors only. Throughout the year there are various entertaining events put together for residents to enjoy and Christmases are wonderful all thanks the the hard work of every member of staff.
