I don't like how they speak to their patients. They are very rude and unprofessional. I had an appointment booked in 2month before. They cancelled that appointment. I couldn't ring in straight away as I had other commitments. I finally took out some time to ring in and the receptionist was not polite at all... If you cancelled my appointment for your reason you should take the responsibility to re-arrange it or rebook it. The least you could say is sorry for the inconvenience! How unprofessional saying its my fault that I haven't called in sooner! Absolutely nightmare they are!

Disappointed with the lack of consistency and support. I was assured by a GP two months ago that they would be happy to write me a letter following some tests, but now another GP has refused, claiming itā€™s not within their job to do so and was very rude. This has caused unnecessary stress and frustration. A clearer and more unified approach to patient communication is needed.

I have been to Riverview Heath Centre at the Wound Hub.
The reason I have left a 5 star review is because the wonderful staff who work in the Wound Hub have been brilliant for their care and kindness to me whilst being professional in the job they do.
This review goes to Kate, Zoe, Jamana and Kayleigh.
They all deserve my 5 star review. Many thanks ladies, youā€™re doing a brilliant job.

I have had four bad experiences at this practice

First, I asked the receptionists if they could point me towards addiction support for a family member and was told no such service was offered by them. One of the pharmacists- Lynn, lovely person, always kind and friendly- took me to the back of the building where Wear Recovery is located. An addiction support service was inside their building and the receptionist flat out lied. It is hard enough to ask for support, be it for yourself or a loved one, and for a someone working in the medical field to lie about where to access support is abhorrent.

Second, I went in to ask if I could be put on the waiting list for therapy and was told ā€œno, thereā€™s 8 million people on that list and that number grows everydayā€. I am aware the waiting list is long but being 8,000,001 is better than not being on it at all. Left with a phone number for a service that only operates during my work hours, I told him this and he said my only other option was the crisis team. Iā€™m now registered for therapy with a charity who actually recognised how important it was I get some help.

Third, I went back because of recurring sinus infections and was again told there was nothing to be done without even looking at my nose. He wrote a name of a steroid nasal spray on a post-it and told me to take that daily for the rest of my life

Fourth, I called up about an ear infection and was told to call 111. 111 told me to call my GP so we had a bit of a back and forth while 111 tried to get me an appointment but even they gave up and told me my best bet was Urgent Care. For an ear infection. The staff at Urgent Care were lovely but very blunt with me and honestly I donā€™t blame them. People shouldnā€™t be sent to Urgent Care when they have an easily treatable illness - I waited 12 hours in total over 2 days and my assessment took 5 minutes. Thereā€™s no reason why my GP couldnā€™t have dealt with this himself (although looking in my ear would require Dr Bruce to do his job and I havenā€™t seen him do much more than take notes so far)

I donā€™t see the point of having a GP that doesnā€™t even listen to you or examine you for symptoms youā€™re describing or a receptionist that doesnā€™t point you towards help youā€™re directly and specifically asking for

Nice modern surgery with its own pharmacy & car park! I've always had a good experience coming here. Doctors/staff are polite and professional.

The car park is 99% full with staff vehicles so you need to arrive 30mins early & prepare for battle over a space if 1 eventually becomes available! Ridiculous for all visitors never mind disabled 1's.

After being told to get an Autumn COVID booster shot I booked an appointment here despite the low review score. Unfortunately despite being told I was eligible both online and by text, the patronising women decided I wasn't because my condition (despite being in the NHS website) wasn't on her bit of paper. She didn't apologize and spoke to me like I'm a fool for following the advice sent to me. Now I can't trust if I should get a vaccine or not, or if any messages I receive from the NHS are legitimate. 1 star is honestly to good fit anywhere that employees clowns like her.

Receptionist booked me with a doctor that me and my family have refused to see for years on end from a certain insistent to do with mental health. We asked to be with Dr Hussain but ended up with Dr Bruce. Had my own appointment for mental health problems not knowing it was with himself. I did not realise who he was but no help was coming my way. Gave me a number that was within my working schedule I asked for another that is within my free time he basically blew me off. Did not take in anything I said and sent me off. Made myself vulnerable and have never felt so low in my life because of his actions, attitude and words towards myself. I am a 18 year old girl seeking for help walking out of my GP heartbroken and hopeless.
