Quite possibly the worst practice in Cambridgeshire!!!!

The staff at this branch do nothing but mislead and feed you excuses and to be honest I find all very rude when dealing with the public! They try and get you off the phone as quick as they can and clearly don’t want to be at work!

How is it that a simple receptionist has the power to decide if you get to see a doctor or not?!

Like other negative reviews left about this practice the staff seem to treat patients and especially in this situation I had with them that you a burden rather than a patient!

They also get you in for an appointment at 3:00 and by 3:45 I’m still waiting, but God forbid I’m 3 minutes late and they’re already on the phone wondering where you are!

All you get in response is a standard computer written reply as they don’t care

Such a Shame as I live in St Ives and this is my local practice but will never recommend and never go in there again. AVOID!!!!!

It's so disheartening that trying to see a GP now has changed from 'how can we help you' to 'what makes you think you should be here'.

Their care coordinator treats you like a burden for trying to make an appointment. They have a triage system overseen by receptionists who just cannot wait to get you off the phone. These people are not healthcare professionals, but they get to decide whether a doctor will see you or not.

The doctors usually won't see you, but they will send you a half-hearted text based only on what their receptionist has told them, so you won't get the treatment you need because you never get to actually talk to the person who is medically qualified. And you cannot respond at any point once you are in this process, because the messages the doctors or care coordinators send to you cannot be replied to. You have to call them, try and get an actual appointment, and you're back at square one.

All I can say is try not to get ill as a patient of this surgery, because you will then face the worst possible experience of trying to get help.

No doubt they will write a passive-aggressive response to this review though, because this is what they care about, not the patients.

Update Despite the reply received here, the complaint I wrote to Riverport has not been acknowledged or actioned upon.

After been in terrible pain. Couldn't even get an appointment. But the care assistant had plenty of time for several messages. Which advise to go to the pharmacy for appointment which was simply a joke. In the end went to A&E.
I'm not sure why this called doctors are so busy. Covid it's over. They get paid a fortune for a job they can't do. I'm not going there with ones work for an agency which which they charge the tax payer even more. This system it's simply terrible.
They better off shut the doors no care it's better then terrible care.

Contacted the surgery today as have laryngitis, conjunctivitis which is affecting my sight, chesty cough and feeling extreme fatigue. Pus coming from eyes is yellow which indicates bacterial infection. Response from surgery. Get to Doddington walk-in clinic which is 18 miles away. How the hell do they think I am going to get there. Just a text message. No contact with anyone which would have been difficult as no voice. Am a Pensioner who has mobility problems which I am still waiting for appt. This is not the service you expect from your GP service. This surgery is absolutely useless.

Fenstanton Surgery, what a joke. The manager, if you can call him that is as much use as a chocolat fire guard. The Doctors are useless, unable to give an injection even. Probably too busy planning their next strike. What a dump.

Doctors and nurses are lovely but there is one receptionist who is so rude and dismissive it makes me not want to call. She tried to get off the phone before I’d even finished speaking as soon as she decided she wasn’t interested. I understand it’s busy for them but that’s no excuse to treat people like dirt!

I had my First visit to Riverport Medical Practice yesterday as a new patient, the receptionist(s) were very welcoming. I saw Jodie the Diabetes Nurse she was very thorough with my tests, very good at blood test haven’t bruised! Made a follow up appointment when bloods are back.
