I've been really impressed with this club. The staff are friendly and consistently go above and beyond, making every visit enjoyable. Compared to my previous gym, it offers excellent value for money. There's a great selection of classes to choose from, and the whole place has a welcoming, community vibe that makes it easy to stay motivated. Highly recommended!

I have been working with Harry for over six months now and his professional approach and focus has been absolutely spot on!
He has taken into consideration my goals, limitations, age(!) and has completely taken my physique and training to another level.
I have competed in two fitness events and started to Olympic lift and we have only just started! I would recommend Harry for anyone wishing to start, develop or take their training to the next level. Motivated, caring and completely orientated to helping me achieve what I asked him. 100% recommendation.

I can't think why the riverbourne feels justified in increasing their prices, twice in rapid succession. It used to be £3.50 pre coving, then £5.00 slightly understandable given their losses during covid, but then all of a sudden an increase to £6 and almost immediately after £7!
The changing rooms are less than desirable and not adequate, and the one mixed sex sauna is almost always full, mainly with sweaty men

I’ve been a member here for over a year now so I feel I’m in a good position to leave an accurate review. I will try and the short and to the point.

Short version:
I come here for the atmosphere and the friendships I’ve made with the PTs, facilities are great never a long wait for anything even at peak times. Theres pricing for a monthly member with a pay-as-you-go option, but full-time members get free parking.
More in-depth review below.

Facilities:
A great selection of cardio and weight equipment, with two or three new machines having been added since my membership. The staff seem very on top of maintaining and replacing equipment; and even at peak times I’ve never had to wait very long for a piece of equipment .

There are dozens of classes going on throughout the week, and Sofia runs the Milon programme which seems very popular. I’ve never personally taken a class but they take place either on the gym floor or in one of the studio rooms. Having observed some of the classes going on in the morning the PTs seem motivated and seem to respond well to the members and they leave looking absolutely knackered.

There is a good size pool, again I don’t go there often but there are many classes and also three swimming lanes, I’m not sure if they’re designated swim times for young children or not .

Staff:
I can personally say that I have made great friends with many of the PTs, Kieran the fitness manager, Ben, Jess, Harry, Sofia are all lovely lovely people, extremely knowledgeable, and even if they’re occupied they always seem to make time for people with questions or people wanting advice. Even if they’re just walking the gym floor if they see that you are unsure or perhaps doing something that would risk injury, they’ll come and have a quiet chat.
I’ll be moving away from the area, but I will make the drive back to this gym because it’s such a friendly and vibrant atmosphere.

Price:
As a full member depending on what promotion is on you can expect to pay between Ā£45 and Ā£55 if you go to the gym more than three times a week it’s best to become a full member rather than Pay As You Go as the monthly cost works out cheaper, I signed up doing a promotion so I didn’t have to pay a joining fee these promotions seem to run fairly often so always worth asking. Based on what the gym has, and the people who work here I would say this gym is very good value for money.
And full members get free parking.

Attended a private physio session which is attached to the club. Staff here cannot be more helpful. Happy to assist with queries unrelated to my appointment. Worth a visit

River Bourne Health Club Review

As someone who values both fitness and community, my experience at River Bourne Health Club has been a positive one overall. After searching for a welcoming place to work out, I decided to join River Bourne a few weeks ago, and I've found it to be a solid choice.
Upon entering, I was greeted by the friendly faces of the staff. Their warm demeanor makes you feel right at home, and I appreciate how they remember my name and take a genuine interest in my fitness journey. This sense of community is something River Bourne excels at, creating an atmosphere that encourages interaction among members. It’s a refreshing change from places like Egham Orbit, where the vibe can feel a bit less personal.

The gym itself boasts a fantastic array of equipment. Whether you’re into cardio, strength training, or group classes, there's something for everyone. I’ve never had to wait for a machine, and the equipment appears to be routinely maintained, which adds to the overall workout experience. While it may not be the most modern facility compared to some other gyms, it certainly gets the job done effectively.

Cleanliness is another area where River Bourne shines. The locker rooms are spacious and well-kept, providing a comfortable place to change before and after workouts. The showers are okay—functional but not overly luxurious. Nonetheless, they meet my needs after an intense session.

The community aspect is a significant highlight for me. I've had the pleasure of making friends through various classes and gym activities. The friendly atmosphere encourages camaraderie, and members often support and motivate one another, fostering connections that make each visit enjoyable. It’s this community spirit that truly sets River Bourne apart from other gyms, like Egham Orbit, which lacks that same level of engagement among its members.

However, it's important to mention a couple of the negatives I’ve observed. The sauna at River Bourne feels a bit old and dated, which is a downside when looking for a relaxing post-workout space. It could use a refresh to elevate the experience further. Additionally, while the gym functions well and has everything I need, some areas could benefit from a modernization. Although the equipment works perfectly fine, an updated aesthetic could make workouts feel even more inspiring.

In conclusion, River Bourne Health Club provides a positive gym experience with a few drawbacks. With hard-working staff, a welcoming community, and great equipment, it's a solid choice for anyone looking to pursue their fitness goals. While it isn’t without its quirks, it offers an environment that balances functionality and community, making it a better gym option compared to Egham Orbit. If you're searching for a place to work out where you can also build connections, River Bourne is worth considering.

Really rude older woman who works at reception. I was thinking of joining the gym here but you don't feel welcome. Don't join here if you're not super confident at the gym as they are not helpful or friendly. Otherwise, facilities seem okay and clean.

The Riverbourne gym is one of the best gyms I’ve been to. The gym is spacious and the floor space is well thought out and planned. The staff there are always helpful and welcoming. I have regular PTs with Megan - she’s tough! Each session is a challenge but in a productive way without killing my motivation. I couldn’t recommend Riverbourne Gym and Megan more highly!
