If I could give this a 0 rating then I would. People are going to this pain clinic when they’re in chronic pain and don’t know what to do next. The clinic is unwelcoming, budget and uncomfortable. The only suggestion the doctor made for me was to go on the pain management programme so that I could “accept” my disability and manage it better. I’m not someone that had an injury 5 years ago and in denial about my pain. I’ve been disabled since the age of 7 and now I’m 32. I’ve had several operations and have been told that with good rehabilitation, my pain can be reduced. I waited 2 years for this appointment, just to be told that the only option is the programme. When I suggested physiotherapy to him, his main concern was that I would be discharged from the programme to do the physiotherapy and that any form of rehabilitation that I brought to his attention was only short term solutions. I’m sorry but even if it’s 1 year of minimal pain, I’d choose that over anything. Of course I’ve accepted I have a disability and my pain, however, I know there’s better ways of managing it then being on opioids and other medications.

I’m not happy with this service at all and will not be going back.
