Nestled in the serene countryside, the setting alone is enough to bring a sense of peace, but it’s the exceptional team of professionals and the deeply personalized approach that truly make this place special.

The staff at PROMIS are not only incredibly knowledgeable and experienced but also genuinely compassionate. Every therapist, doctor, and support worker treated me as an individual, tailoring my recovery plan to address my physical, emotional, and psychological needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. Their blend of evidence-based therapies, holistic treatments, and personal support helped me gain clarity, confidence, and control over my life again.

The daily structure was well-balanced—intensive therapy sessions mixed with mindful activities like yoga, equine therapy, and nutritional workshops. I never felt overwhelmed, but I always felt like I was making real progress every single day. The food was outstanding, and the focus on nutrition and overall wellness helped me regain my strength both mentally and physically.

One of the biggest highlights was the sense of community. The support from both the staff and fellow residents was invaluable—a network of people who genuinely care and understand what you’re going through. Even after leaving, the aftercare support has been incredibly strong, ensuring that I continue my recovery journey with confidence.

Hay Farm is an exceptional, professional and compassionate environment. Everything about my experience end-to-end was well thought through and thorough, but I never felt I was being processed like another number in a machine. I left with a very different way of thinking about me and my life. Staff-resident interaction was open and 'horizontal', like you are all part of something together every day. In no particular order: therapy team are fantastic and complement each other very well across a super comprehensive programme. Clinical staff 100% on the ball and kind, patient and approachable. High quality psychiatry consultations. Wonderful housekeeping team led by the amazing Tracy (thanks again!), and grounds and maintenance (and general chats) led by Mark and his team. Ice bath and cold water lake sessions with Charlotte were unbelievable experiences. Food, wowee - kudos to Chris and Mark. Special thanks to Jo a constant and reassuring, calm presence. There's lots of space to find your own quiet place and time too. Oh yeah, the sunrises. I'll leave it there!

I cannot speak highly enough of Hay Farm. I went in struggling with debilitating anxiety and depression. I saw the psychiatrist on the first day who changed my medication immediately, which I had been trying and failing to get my GP to do. This was so reassuring. All of the staff were fantastic and me feel safe and secure. Even Chris the chef asked about all my dietary needs and served me up some wonderful meals. Throughout my two week stay I had daily one on ones with the therapists who were exceptional and many varied group sessions, which before arriving at Hay Farm, I had my reservations about. I needn't have worried, as they were really helpful and positive. Outside of the talking therapies i also tried the equine and ice bath therapy which has led me to buy my own ice bath and join my local lake swimming club. I was sad to leave the safe and welcoming arms of Hay Farm, but I came home in a much better place and ready to take on the world again.

I spent 6 weeks in Hay Farm in February/March for addiction, trauma and eating disorder and have one regret: that I didn't do this 35 years ago!

The experience has been life changing for me, and as all the other reviews say, everyone at PROMIS are the very best, from the cleaning team and night porters, through to the therapists, all are exceptional at what they do and I can't praise them enough.

The friendly level of care and the expertise of the therapists was awesome, with their ability to help steer me through the fog of mistaken beliefs, helping me discover emotions that I didn't know I had and that were causing me problems, how to deal with them in a responsible way, teaching me how to ride out urges to use, teaching me how to actually be kind to myself and finally lessening the hurt of decades old trauma to to the point where it has very little impact on me, a mammoth task! thank you all! 🤗

I was able to leave with both mind and body in a far better place than when I went in. What an immense privilege to have been able to go through this experience!

As an example of the holistic care of PROMIS, I didn't know I had an easting disorder when I went in, they very quickly pinpointed this and helped me through a very difficult transition of binge eating and sugar addition. The three meals a day are both extremely generous and incredibly good, the chefs and team are brilliant.

The resident nurse didn't allow me to see what my weight was on my weekly medical check ups and I was surprised that I had lost over 2 stone (16Kg in new money) over the 6 weeks!

Equine therapy and art are two things that I thought would be a waste of time but both were really good, I was amazed by amount of things I learnt about myself through these.

I can't leave this review without mention of the benefits of an ice bath both learnt and practiced at the farm, which for me was both an analogy for riding out uncomfortable feelings or an urge to use and also as an incredible stimulant that made me feel so alive through the day. After all, if I've been able to sit in an ice bath for 10-15 minutes, the rest of the day is a breeze!

Lastly, to wake up to amazing sunrises and being able to see France on the horizon most mornings was a very nice bonus!

There is only one rating I could give you, PROMIS: 5 stars!

PS: They treat you like adults here, you are reasonably free to come and go, one or two patients spent the day just wandering around the farm or country lanes but from my observation those that put the work in to get better by attending all the sessions and participating in them visibly did get better every day. I found the work mentally exhausting but knew that it was working for me because of this.

From the initial call filtered by the amazing Lucy, to Robin’s assessment to Natalie’s welcome and the client’s peer support, this facility is so undersold in terms of supporting overall wellbeing!! The incredible humanity of therapists, the psychiatrists, the chef Chris, the caring Charlotte and everything cold water to Joe and her fellowship enthusiasm!! This place allows life to be disentangled and starts to rebuild a better, more robust and sustainable version of yourself. Thank you for allow hope and its glimmers to radiate my life.

Hi, all.... I can Honestly say that Promis Clinics has saved my life on two occasions.

It defiantly starts with Robin the MD.... he is an absolute Gentleman alongside his fabulous and considerate team, Lucy Britton (absoulute star!!!!!!!) of Therapists {Clayton} and kind Nurse's {Natalie) and also to mention Mimi for sure! (thank you, for the Xmas present,BTW)

I would also like to mention my therapist from the first time I was with the clinic, and his advice stuck with me for a number of years.

Chester Page at Kensington Mews, who is an excellent human being and gave me guidance, however, I unfortunately lost.

50 days clean and sober today,

God Bless, Promis Clinics from the bottom of my heart and please take on board any guidance they give to you as they really do care.

Five star counselling, with committed and dedicated staff from my initial phone call through to the on site team (housekeeping through to therapists) and now the after care. Life changing experience for me. Food was excellent but accommodation could do with some improvements for clients and staff areas. Would 100% recommend Promis Hay Farm and the people who work there.

I spent 6 weeks at Promis Hay Farm in Kent from November until January this year. From the first day I arrived I knew I had done the right thing in going there. I booked in for help with a chronic anxiety disorder.
The knowledge of all the Therapists plus their very caring nature was outstanding. The nurses were so lovely and helpful as well as being very professional. I felt totally validated, cared about and understood. The fact that I received one to one therapy daily has been the greatest gift in understanding myself and how the anxiety I have been suffering had escalated so much.
The group sessions were invaluable too . To truly understand and witness that others suffer too and how much empathy and care for another human being that brings up was for me an essential part in bonding and having a lovely relationship with other members in the group.
I met so many wonderful people both staff and people like me who had gone there to begin their recovery . I cannot recommend Promis highly enough for anyone who needs their help and expertise. The therapists at Promis have helped me to see so many things in my life from a different perspective. I am extremely grateful and will continue to make use of their aftercare facilities.
