Poor Service and Dangerous Negligence – Be Cautious

I had an engine oil and filter change done at Premier Test Centre Corby about two weeks ago, paying £50 in cash. Today, while refilling washer fluid, I discovered the oil cap had been left off by the mechanic. This led to oil spilling all over the engine bay, risking severe engine damage and creating a potential fire hazard.

When I returned to the centre and explained the situation, they gave me £7 back, which doesn't even cover the £15 I spent on new oil, let alone the cost to have the engine professionally cleaned. I drove for nearly two weeks without knowing the oil cap was missing — this could have caused permanent engine damage.

Leaving the oil cap off after an oil change is basic negligence. It shows a clear lack of attention and responsibility. I’m extremely disappointed in how lightly they treated the issue after admitting the mistake.

I’ve been back to this test centre several times now and every time I have had a lovely warm welcome from John and left feeling relieved. Top quality service, booked me in for an appointment straight away, MOT and fittings all done in one day. I will be sure to return year in year out to this trustworthy garage. Very grateful and appreciative for the genuine help and support. He goes the extra mile to make sure everything is to my satisfaction and helps as much as he can with fixing my vehicle and giving advice. Even looking at my car when I’m in a panic that something may be wrong or fitting me in for my MOT on a very particular date due to working away from home. I only have good things to say about this place. Again, so grateful for the genuine duty of care. Would 100000% recommend! 🙂
