Receptionist Mark is great, as long as he doesn’t have to do anything.

I’m a care shy patient so it takes a lot for me to call, but due to some unexpected heath issues, I’ve had great care from Dr Holland & the Physio at Portland, however this is overshadowed by gatekeeper Mark, the receptionist who believes he has the power to prevent patients from getting the care they need.

I was blue lighted to hospital with a life threatening virus recently and my young son saved my life by calling 999. I made a reasonable recovery after 5days to go home, however the hospital were unable to prescribe an inhaler for me without my GP’s permission, but receptionist Mark refused to allow me to speak to a GP or to pass on a message. His attitude was righteous and he was very camp and bitchy. I have recorded the discussion I had with him and have made Maria, the Practice manager aware of this.

I made a complaint to her some time ago but received no response. I called back a couple of days ago and was fobbed off once again. It was only after I told her I was recording the conversation that I felt I was being taken seriously.

I did ask if their calls were recorded (if they were, then maybe the staff would behave appropriately) and was told no. This needs to change for the sake of the patients.

Had some worrying news from doctor yesterday but really happy with how the doctor dealt with it, dont know her name but she was fantastic, just a pity about reception trying to fend me off from what appears to be a serious issue.
Doctor 10/10, trying to get an appointment 1/ 10.

Overall my experience has been positive.I have found the Dr. I have seen most DR.Susan Perry very professional with good people skills.Re the other doctors I have had contact with I have found them businesslike and helpful.Re the nurses I have found them fine and friendly. Re the reception at one time I found it hard to get through but I think that has improved. RE the reception staff I have no concerns ,helpful. I realise others appear to have varied experiences but am giving my honest views based on my own experiences.

Can never get hold of the rooms constantly call for more than 3 days ridiculous. When you I did get hold of them and was told to call the next day cause there were no more bookings and you can not make an appointment for the next day, utter nonsense.. Other than that the staff and doctors are good and Friendly just need better communication..

I have had nothing but excellent treatment from this practice. I telephoned at 8.30am one morning and was seen at 10.00am that day. All doctors and other staff are very efficient and caring.

At the moment, and for the past while I am feeling utterly depressed. CAN'T get a damned appointment. Was told no appointments this month except with a locum who doesn't know me.

Can never get an appointment. Next appointment weeks away. Children were neglected by this practice and I was discriminated against. Complaining to the health board sto prevent this happening to anyone else's children. Disgusting.
