Drastic practice and dangerous. I have had numerous appointments over several months and have explained my symptoms of terrible tingling in my legs and arms and pains in my back. The doctor knew I was experiencing problems with walking. For some inexplicable reason she chose to go down the route of stomach cancer. I have had a severe curvature of the spine since age 11. I am now 69. The practice is refusing to refer me to the local orthopaedic hospital even though a referral has been agreed two days ago. I am totally disgusted with this practice. They are refusing to see me until 14th October even though they obviously know the seriousness of my condition. I could end up being paralysed. Now they are refusing to communicate. I am their patient. The response below is to email then. I have received a letter informing me that if I email them again I will be removed from the practice.

I have been with Plas Ffynnon for a long time. They have always done their best for me. I went there with a cough a few years ago. And due to their thorough investigation they found a problem with my heart. This led to open heart surgery. I can't imagine how anyone can complain about a practice where everyone is so efficient and friendly.

Always helpful reception team with great nurses. Not waiting on the phone for hours as they are quick to answer. Always know I’m getting good service when I go for an appointment 🙂

Rang at 8.30 like they advised. Specifically after I’ve told the receptionist my problem was told to ring up tomorrow and do exactly the same as I’ve done today as there’s “no more appointments”. Ridiculous. I cannot take time off work every morning just to beg for a doctors appointment. Whenever I ring to book in an appointment in advance they give me one in 2 months time or to just ring on the day. Just ridiculous. Also, it’s a different doctor every-time you go so they don’t take you seriously enough. Usual advice is taking over counter painkillers and come back in 2 weeks if pain doesn’t go away. Don’t know why I bother trying to get an appointment for the same advice. Negative every-time I go.

I need to update this review as since my bad experience it has improved. I spoke to one of the doctors Dr Kingsley, I believe, who spoke to me with care and actually took me seriously in my problem. After seeing her a few times I finally got my diagnosis after 1 year of appointments with other doctors who constantly kept telling me the pain im feeling is a “pulled muscle” and “your body is just taking longer than normal to heal from a sprain” - thanks to Dr Kinglsey I now have my diagnosis and moving forward with medication and quartly blood tests which is going smoothly. I haven’t felt this confident in a doctor in years.
I like how they have patient access which makes it easier to order repeat prescriptions and book appointments (even though it’s mostly in advance) so you don’t have to bother reception. I have to give them credit when it’s due with them doing extended access also as it helps me out with not taking time off work. I haven’t phoned for an emergency appointments as of yet so will only update the rev from 1 star to 3.

The management at the practice are terrible. I wrote a very lengthy complaint regarding the practice and the manager replied 4 weeks later, with an almost 2 paged letter, stating the dialogue from a phone call, I used as a reference in my complaint. The complaint in general wasn't even acknowledged. I'm tired of trying to get anywhere with this practice anymore, DO NOT RECOMMEND.
