Seamless experience, no waiting and in & out of hospital in under 2 hours. Although I was initially mildly apprehensive about the surgery, Greg and his team were attentive, friendly and informative, putting me at ease and making sure I was comfortable. Only low level discomfort following the surgery and no need to take anything more than paracetamol and occasional ibuprofen for a couple of days. Now, five weeks post-surgery I am more or less fully recovered and back to normal activities. Highly recommended! Thank you.

I had a fantastic experience with my recent medical treatment. I initially visited my GP on a Monday to confirm my suspicion of an inguinal hernia. During that appointment, the doctor informed me that the referral process could take up to a year and that waiting for an operation could take another two to three years. Frustrated, I decided to go private and emailed Dr. Greg and his team for a quote.

On the same day, they offered me two possible appointments: one week from that Monday or two weeks away. I chose the latter, allowing myself more time to prepare mentally. The team provided me with all the relevant information, and everything was incredibly clear.

On the day of the operation, everything went smoothly— like clockwork. I was in and out in less than two hours, which included checking in, the operation itself, and recovery. Remarkably, just one week after the operation, I returned to work, even though I had been advised to wait at least two weeks.

I experienced a remarkably fast recovery, just as they had indicated. It’s worth noting that they do mention in their information pack that recovery times may vary for some individuals, depending on the type of hernia and the condition of the patient. However, the information provided was thorough and easily understandable.

I was glad that I went to a private clinic and that I found this fantastic team of professional doctors, nurses, and aestheticians.

What a fantastic service Greg and the team offer at OHC. I had direct contact with Greg once booked in and he put my mind to rest and was very informative about what to expect during my visit. Being my first ever surgery I was a little nervous but the team made me feel welcome and safe. Everyone in the team was a joy to speak to and it was money very well spent after worrying I could be on the NHS list for 18 weeks to get a consultation. Another benefit was two weeks post surgery I had a few concerns and Greg responded swiftly and eased all of them. Hopefully I'll never have another hernia but if I do they'll be first on the list to correct the problem. 👍👍

It's been 4 months since my inguinal hernia operation; I thought I'd wait till now to review so I could include details of my recovery.
Firstly, my initial contact, lead up and operation were all faultless. I was told it would be over a year to even see a consultant on the NHS, and here in the north of Scotland the two main private providers were offering provisional quotes of around 5K. When I found OHC with a fixed price of half that I checked them out and found their website and online booklet extremely professional. From contact to booking to consultation to the operation itself everything was great. My experience with the friendly team on the day was even better than anticipated. In and out in 2 hours with no issues.
Post op all has been almost exactly as described in the booklet - this really is a superb resource and is extremely helpful and reassuring.
Four months on I am almost completely symptom free - my "sausage lump" at the site has shrunk to a small fraction of it's original size. I still have a small amount of tenderness on palpation below the incision but nothing of concern.
So I would not hesitate to recommend Greg and his team, even if it means travelling the length of the country as I did. Thanks again to all.
