The young, dark-haired lady on reception was incredibly rude, obnoxious, and unhelpful. From the outset, it seemed that she couldn't be bothered to be there or help anyone, and didn't even say hello.
She argued facts with me, despite them being on the screen in front of her, and refused to help until I really had to insist.
And it wasn't just with me, she seemed exactly the same with the gentleman in front of me, too.
I would suggest communication skills training would be the first step. They reception team are the face of the surgery, the first contact for patients and relatives, and this 'welcome' is just not good enough, I'm afraid.

I contacted the surgery to book for blood tests and also mentioned I was having trouble getting on to the app to view my records. The receptionist took the time to email me the login details, I did however still struggle to get access.
The following day I rang the surgery again and spoke to Rachael on reception, she took the time to investigate the problem. She had a lovely manner and she gave me the confidence that she would resolve the issue.
I received an email with further details that day which allowed me to fully access the app.
I found Rachael and her colleagues to be very professional and helpful and I thought this should be conveyed to the practice manager and the doctors. Thank you.

Totally excellent service across the board supporting and treating my 82 year old Dad. Less than 6 months from first GP consultation to starting chemotherapy after major surgery for his (completely resected) pancreatic cancer. The attention to detail and communication from The Old Fire Station practice has been fantastic. It makes a huge difference being able to have the pre-chemo bloods at the surgery. We were especially impressed today when the practice phlebotomist was suddenly and expectedly available when we needed a blood test today: we had a fresh appropriate appointment offer within 5 minutes and had the rescheduled test done within 30 minutes. Clearly something is going very right at TOFS!

Some feedback:
Regarding the Old Fire Station Surgery Newsletter, useful if you’ve seen a copy on the table in the waiting room but would be more timely for clients/patients to see it on the Facebook page or link the publication to a text message so all clients can read it and get the latest on time.
I saw a copy nearly 3 months after it had been printed dated summer 2024. Some of the information would have been useful to know earlier.
Just my observation.

This practice is absolutely amazing whenever they are contacted they always go over and above to solve your problem. My wife and I feel extremely lucky in this day and age to be registered with such a wonderful surgery.

Requested a phone call. Received the phone call and told to come in at 2.30 same day. While waiting someone came in with a problem regarding the same doctor, no appointment, and was taken in immediately to see him…. for 15 minutes. Every other patient who came before me or after was seen. 45 minutes and still waiting. Why?
