Tried booking appointment for two days time around work, you have no chance , you can book for two weeks time , if you need to be seen you have to turn up at 8am queue on the car park like sheep and hope you get something, receptionist have been laid off and calls don’t even come through to this doctors, you try and call and most the time it cuts you off , if you do get through your 50th in the queue, COVID is over don’t you know , get your hand in your pocket and employee more people , need a massive overhaul, been at this surgery since 11 now 58, need to look elsewhere unfortunately.
Very poor.

Unfortunately Dr James has retired which is sad because he was the most sincere and professional GP at this practice.

Dr James is knowledgeable and professional. He listens and does not patronize or talk down to you. He's willing to have a conversation about your medical history and not behave like a robot.

Its is disgraceful that people of this practice are giving them poor reviews.
From my experience all the staff at this practice are professional, hard work and will do all they can to help anyone that requires there help. It may be difficult to get through to practice thats due to the extreme work load they are trying to deal with. So please give them the respect they deserve, they need our support not
bad reviews.

Over the years I’ve had no complaints at all about the surgery, it’s been easy to book appointments and the service once there has been fantastic.

Echoing other recent reviewers though, just lately, it’s been a nightmare to book an appointment. On a number of occasions now it’s taken us a frustratingly long time to get through. Luckily, no one in our household is a vulnerable person or significantly ill, but for those that are, I really feel for them if they are experiencing similar.

The booking process urgently needs a significant review!

Even before the Pandemic, there was a national shortage of GPS and the Park Medical has been no exception. This has been a very stressful time for the NHS. GPS have family’s too that have had Covid and they have still been working at home while looking after them. We now have three surgeries we can go to if we are able. The telephone service does need looking at Its very frustrating to ring at 8 and to get through and then be cut off. Only to wait another hour to be told there are no appointments. Receptionists need to understand that people who are unwell and anxious are not at their best, but also if you’ve had five people in a row complaining that’s hard too. That is their job though and some need a bit more patience. I think that on the whole the surgery is doing their very best. These are not normal times and under abnormal conditions we cannot expect things to be the same ,we all need to be less demanding and I know I’m guilty of that. Hospitals have not been able to function as they did pre Pandemic.so not will other services. Most things can wait a couple of days or so, It is frustrating but things will slowly improve.

Feeling very frustrated! Since the merge with the another surgery, I can never get through to make an appointment, it doesn't seem to matter what time of day I ring either. Before the merge I could at least get through to somebody, and doctors and staff were friendly, and always did their best to help. I sympathize with the pressure they must be under, but when I can't even get an appointment for my children, it's worrying. Unfortunately, I will be looking at the possibility of moving to a different doctors surgery.

I've been with the surgery for around 30 years now.
I can't fault the staff, all very professional and polite.
Two star rating is due to the dreadful booking system. On several occasions over at least the last year I have started calling at 8am only to wait 10 minutes in the queue, and then have the phone ring and nobody answer. This can happen on multiple occasions, and by that time I have missed all appointments for the day.

Sadly I will be moving surgeries to find a more reliable surgery.

Absolutely hopeless. The only appointments available online are for 2-3 weeks in advance.
You try and visit (only want a repeat prescription) and you are told to call them.... Good luck with that as you will be on hold for over an hour with no answer.
I tried calling them once when I was outside, there were zero patients in the waiting room and no body behind the window in reception, and they still didn't answer the phone ?.
The waiting room is covered in polythene and hazard tape, if you manage to get inside there are about 3 plastic chairs only.
If I could avoid this practice I would, if I could give zero stars I would.
Absolutely hopeless...
