The surgery is run like a doctors practice not a business, I find them extremely caring understanding most of all reliable which is so valuable when you're health is not the best.
Alot of the reviews seem to be about the attitude off the staff, I think I would be grumpy if I had to deal with the general public especially when there unwell.

Visited the surgery this morning to leave a sample. I did not know where to leave it so waited at reception, I was completely ignored, I saw one of the receptionists who had her back to the counter look in a mirror ,I know she saw me but she chose not to help even when I called excuse me. I gave up and went to dispensary who as usual were very helpful. I have heard several stories from friends about the rude staff on reception, this was my first experience. Some staff training I think is needed.

Friendly reception staff, smiling nursing team and doctors who make me feel at ease. I am always able to get appointments for myself and my family. I have attended regularly over the last decade for regular blood tests etc, flu vaccines, all of which have been straight forward with minimal wait and service with a smile. I can't thank you all (every single team member) enough and feel extremely lucky to have Nunwell as my local GP practice.

One star for the practice management and their not really worth that .Went in this morning , Monday , to make an appointment . Receptionist seemed to be incapable of understanding this basic concept and told us we had to ring on Wednesday morning to make one as she couldn't make one while we were there . I'm sure the doctors are OK , buts thats if you ever allowed to see one .

ok let's start with the positives.

several good caring Doctors, who really do try to make a difference.
all nurses are amazing,
most of the reception staff are brilliant.

now the negatives.

multiple rude, uninterested doctors. for example I visited Dr W explained my problem and got a response of " so what would you like me to do about it" said in a very uncaring manner. Followed by " the medication your on is very expensive so I'm changing it to another that's almost the same but cheaper". He came across as totally uninterested in the problem I came in for and more concerned about saving them money by providing cheaper pills.
other Doctors appear to be more like robots they imput the data into the PC and read what's on the screen.
One of the reception staff is very rude, the rest are brilliant.
The place now looks so run down and uncared for its an eyesore inside and out.
Parking has always been a problem. spaces are too small which creates issues when people end up taking two spaces through no fault of their own. they would be better to remove one of the spaces and widen the remaining ones.
overall the surgery needs a kick up the rear end to improve patient / doctor relations.

Update: the place has gone further and further down hill with little to no interest in patients as its more about how many people they can diagnose over the phone than in person. You can ring up when they open( 8am) be 2nd in the queue and when you get through they have no appointments. Either the phone system lies or they clearly don't want to see patients face to face. The prescription department is now no longer reachable by phone at all. The place is a shambles and clearly run for profit rather than patient care.

Very helpful, effective and friendly receptionists, sympathetic and efficient nurses, highly qualified and competent doctors, organised and accommodating dispensary - all working tirelessly for increasing numbers of patients who are frequently very unwell, anxious, depressed and tired. I have personally witnessed the tactful and patient handling by staff of some unreasonable and self-important demands of some patients.
