I used to be at Kingfisher Medical Centre where I always received great service.

Since they closed and merged with Newport Pagnell Medical Centre I have never ONCE been able to obtain either an on the day or future appointment.

You can call this doctors at any time of day and you will either be 50th in the line or the operating system will tell you there are too many people waiting and simple hang up on you. If you do ever manage to get through all the appointments are gone.

I don't understand how this is allowed to carry on, this doctors is now clearly over subscribed and not able to actually give a duty of care to all its new extra patients.

I have a historic cancer scare issue that needs checking and the receptionist has simply told me they have "no appointments at all to give" either today or at all in the future, and has advised me to go to the walk in centre - how is this a doctors service?

What a joke of a medical practice. After waiting over a month for an appointment, I arrived early, booked myself in and the screen said 'ground floor consultant room 4—only to be told 40 minutes later that I had apparently booked in for blood tests. Apparently someone was looking for me on the first floor (not the ground floor). When I made the appointment, I clearly stated that I had a deep splinter in my heel, so I don’t understand why no one contacted me to correct the error. Their online booking system is absolutely terrible. I was then told to go to A&E without anyone even looking at my foot. I’ll be changing doctors soon—this place is a constant let down.

Update 29/05/2025 - I would like to add that I contacted Fazilat Shivji Services Support Manager after he replied to this review and never heard anything back.

If only I could give 0 stars. I have severe bipolar, I am about to lose my job due to extended sick leave and Newport Medical Centre will not give me a sick note despite proof, they also will not give an appointment. They refuse to change my medication so my psychiatrist has done it and they still refuse to put this on my notes and give me repeat prescriptions. I can’t even get disability allowance because the GP has not updated my medical notes or medication so PIP think I am lying as my psychiatrist notes and doctors notes do not add up. I am going to not only be jobless but have no way or earning. I have been on the doctors case since JANUARY. My notes say I’m on 25 mg of one medication and I’m on 150! My notes say I am not antidepressants when I am on the highest does of one! No repeat prescriptions, no update to notes, NO APPOINTMENT! Impossible! GP receptionist lied to me so I was back and forwards to pharmacy as doctors weren’t sending the right prescriptions even though they promised it was. I’ve been phoning, doing online forms and going in. I have been in and out of hospital since January from suicide attempts and severe depressive episodes and Newport Pagnell Medical Centre has ignored everything or just told me I need an appointment which they won’t give me!!!! I don’t know what else to do. I am trying to find who to make a formal complaint to. If I commit suicide at this point, Newport pagnell medical centre should be 100% liable for that. I am doing everything I can to help myself but they are making it 100 times more difficult. I don’t know what else to do.

Since joining I’ve had a really good experience with the surgery. Yes they have long waiting times just like every other surgery. Yes they are under pressure..so is every surgery. However the admin team are lovely and helpful, the drs and nurses I’ve seen have been great, always try to get my daughter in when possible. When they have said they will get back to me they always do! I’ve spoken to them four days in a row over my daughter and they haven’t once got frustrated with me but been reassuring and helpful. The online system works great - yes they close it when needed - and the call back feature is brilliant. Overall a lovely surgery in very challenging times for the NHS. Thank you

Have been in hospital and nearly died multiple times due to NPMC negligence. DISGUSTING SERVICE and very dangerous. Multiple illnesses and they have failed me on all of them repeatedly. Moving doctors and writing a formal complaint. Should go to the press with their neglect as they are risking lives. Extremely rude reception staff and incompetent GPs.

Truly awful. Impossible to get through and reach anyone, and when you finally do the answers you get are unsatisfactory as they just try to get you off the phone as quickly as possible. The online appointment system is never available when I want to use it and I've been waiting for my son's pre-school jabs for a couple of months now. All I'm hearing is I need to wait until they get in touch. The only thing that has worked well so far is requesting a call back. When I opted for this I did actually receive a call back within 30 minutes. I would change GPs if I could.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Tracey in the reception team for going above and beyond for me today. I've been trying to get an appointment for a specific blood test for a long time with no success. After I explained the situation to Tracey this morning over the phone, she (with the help of the team lead of course (big thank you to them too)) managed to move things around for me. Thank you so very much!

For the past week tried to get an appointment online, system not available every day. Go to NHS site not available. It’s been bad for many years but Getting worse at NPMC no improvement on getting an appointment. Go in told they cannot book at the desk this is a broken system.
