Recently changed my mum to Newington Surgery . I cannot praise them enough the quality of care from all of the staff starting from the receptionist healthcare assistants to the doctors . My mum now feels safe , listened . I live in Beverley and wish I coukd have this doctors. Big thank you to you all !!

Further to my last post
I got a text from a female gp asking why i needed a particular item on my repeat prescription. I replied using the link she sent. Ive not had a response since. Haxby is getting worse since it closed the calvert road surgery.
I rang on Friday 13th December
to order two items on repeat prescription. I got a text 3 days later from a gp asking why i was reordering a particular item. I replied and am still waiting for someone to contact me. The repeat hasnt gone through to the pharmacy. Its an absolute joke.
today Thursday 26th September to request some strong pain relief. I was hit by a car and my Achilles tendon is split. I've tried cocodomol and it's not solving the pain. I got a text from the surgery saying The doctor said use ibuprofen gel. Thanks for your empathy and I hope you soon realise how painful Achilles tendon splits are.
27.12.24 update. I've had to ring yet again for a repeat prescription item which is supposed to be on a monthly repeat. What are they playing at. So now I will be without my injection this Friday.

They do respond to my appointment requests for the most part and I have been seen by a GP for issues where needed. Aside from long waiting times after being checked in for an appointment, I think the GPs here do a great job.

Called in the morning. Got my fiance an appointment 2 hours later.
Blood appointment the day after.
Very fast considering how busy they seem.
Doctor was helpful, informative and made her feel at ease even when she was nervous.
Thank you for calming her.
Lady on reception was patient and helped us with our issues. Very kind.

Newington is a very fine center,although my own surgery(StStephens)has vacated and is now only available to myself at Elliot Chaple.

Since having the Haxby Group online system, contacting the surgery has been a breeze. No calling dead on 8am to be in an hours que. I order my meds and request appointments online and they always text back within an hour or two.

Avoid this gp surgery. I requested an appointment to see a gp for meds as they are not on repeat and can't order them on the nhs app only to be told by receptionist that I can't see a doctor.
I need these meds as I'm in a lot of pain. I have been in the surgery before and witnessed receptionist making fun of patients who have phoned in for appointments. They are disgraceful and should be reprimanded for there behaviour
