Went to Oxford today & wanted some new products from Neal’s Yard arrived @ lunchtime to find note on the door saying gone to lunch back @ 3 so returned just after 3 to find shop still closed. Decided to wait to see if anyone would come to reopen. The girl working there arrived just after ten past by which time there were 2 other people waiting . The girl unlocked the shop. One of the ladies waiting went to follow her in & asked if she could just purchase an item as it was the only thing she wanted & she been waiting. The shop assistant said no she’d couldn’t as she was still on her lunch & promptly went inside & locked the door after her . I can understand that if you’re working there alone you may need to close for lunch but her attitude on returning was disappointing to say the least needless to say won’t be going back

I was served by Anna today (Saturday). She was very helpful, friendly and helped me choose the items I wanted, sharing her own experiences. The shop is easy to navigate and smells divine.

Today, I visited "Neil's Yard store" located in Westgate, Oxford, with the intention of purchasing sunscreen. However, I regret to inform you that my experience at the store was quite disappointing. The staff members treated us poorly and subjected us to humiliation solely based on the color of our skin. This incident marked my first encounter with RACISM in the UK in the past four years. I sincerely hope that appropriate measures are taken against the staff for their behaviour. We didn't find what we were looking for so we left. Around an hour later, while we were shopping in another store they called security on us and accused us of stealing a bottle of sunscreen. We showed them our shopping bags and when nothing came up, they said that it must have been someone else who took the thing, but that doesn't explain why they targeted us and called security on us specifically. This left us humiliated and they didn't apologise for wasting our time and calling us thieves. The security guy they called was really nice though and sympathised with us.The incident took place on June 9, 2023, at 4:30 PM.
They didn't even apologise and accused us of stealing and made excuses for instance the fact that they felt "threatened" by us even though we feel like we were reasonable and only were voicing our humiliation as the original confrontation was outside another store in the open.

P.S security guard was helpful and he apologised for the bad experience. He was a good man.

The staff are always lovely and helpful. Cassie (I think that was her name) went the extra mile by wrapping my gift to perfection. Another staff member made pleasant conversation with me whilst I waited. Can't wait to visit again.

My wife popped in to the Oxford store (Westgate) at 2pm ish to treat herself on New Year's Day. The sales assistant was quite abrupt and not particularly welcoming or friendly. Disappointed

Lovely scents in the air, good sales lady, knew her product.
