Mr Garrett replaced my hip six weeks ago. The agonising pain from osteoarthritis was gone immediately. I am already walking without a stick and have my life back. The hip became painful nearly twelve months ago and I was like a recluse the last 4-6 months, only leaving home if I absolutely had to. I could barely shuffle around the house. I saw a health professional yesterday who had seen me before the surgery and she found it hard to believe how well I was walking and looking in only six weeks. Mr Garrett is extremely approachable and patient friendly, which was important to me in my choice of surgeon. I have got my life back!

I had a total hip replacement 18 months ago with Mr Garrett, I was relatively young for this operation hence I had a few concerns before the surgery. Mr Garrett answered all my questions which enabled me to make an informed decision and physically prepare myself as much as possible. Simon Garrett carried out a full hip replacement operation for me on 14 May 2019. A talented surgeon, attentive, thorough and informative, Simon Garrett instills confidence in his patients. He made me feel fully involved in the process with clear explanations of x rays and the opportunity to ask questions and seek advice. His aftercare was very helpful.
The supporting theatre team and nursing staff were considerate and caring and my recovery was hastened by my physiotherapist and use of the AlterG anti-gravity treadmill at the Winterbourne hospital which I used from week two after my operation. I was surprised at how quickly I was up and walking and now, a little over ten weeks on, I have been able to resume normal activities, some of which I have been unable to do for many months.

Mr Garrett did an excellent job in giving me a whole knee replacement. Before the operation I was barely able to walk, certainly not for any distance. The new knee has taken me along the Great Wall of China and enables me to play in international tennis tournaments throughout Europe, all in my 70th year. Should I need any further bits and pieces replaced he will be my first port of call.

I have just had my total hip replacement done by Mr Simon Garret and he is a surgeon of genius proportions i could not bear too walk on my left hip today i am walking without pain except for the surgery pain but thay is bearable and considering its a hammer saw and chisel type operation its amazing results i would like to thank all the staff at Wintetbourne for their kind a courteous treatment whilst i was under their care and advise anyone in need of hip or knee help give him a ring a true gentleman thank you Simon for your skillfull surgery james white.

I can’t recommend Mr Garrett more highly - I’ve had two hip replacements one in April 18 followed by the 2nd in December 18. Everything was explained clearly from the start - with all queries answered and the aftercare from the staff at Ridgeway Ward were also excellent. Huge thanks to everyone.
