Lived in Braintree since 1991 the town has got too big to cope
Its hard anywhere getting appointments but reception staff have always been polite, staff friendly to me, my wife and since my mum came over this way she has received good care. Staff working in Pharmacy have also been very helpful.

Can I give zero starts? Never available appointments even when you call at 8:00 and wait for an hour on the phone… and the staff are “sorry nothing I can do”.. waiting for a managers call.. never came.. it’s just unbelievable especially when you need it for your child can be so stressful

MORE ADDED:
TO ADD TO THE PREVIOUS- I ended up contacting the medical ombudsman in regards to many issues of failed care from MC, ThE Surgery response to this was to remove myself from the doctors leaving me with no GP. Indeed of dealing with my complaint . I was told I was emailed in regards to this yet since the suposive date have had 3 appointments no email was ever sent to me. And when i asked thrm to confirmthe email addresd My medical information has also been lost from the system . This doctors Surgery is a complete failure to the area. Just from others reviews I'm absolutely shocked it's still able to practice.

December 2023; Refused a appointment for severe depression because its December and they only have emergency appointments in December. And depression is not classed as a emergency.
June 2024: Since this incident I've had some quite serious health issues and mount chamber have been useless. The staff have the worst uncaring attitude I've ever encountered. The secuatry don't respond to emails or don't put threw the refurals , I collapsed in the street last week because I can't get help from my drs I became so ill that me a 44 year old mum laid in the street struggling to breath because mount Chambers failed me on so many occasions and I wasn't sick enough to get a appointment. And because a refural that was ment to be done 3 months ago got missed so I'm not even on a waiting list for the specialist.
I m actually now at a point that I'm scared that I am getting more poorly and I can't get help from them . I'm scared to leave the house incase I collapse again

I have been under Mount Chanbers since 2015 and they are great. Myself and my husband are always impressed by their knowledge and professionalism. We never have to wait long either for an appointment.

Really great surgery. I have had an appointment with GP Dr Haughian, nurse Benedette and a nurse practitioner (I can not remember her name) but I didn’t have an appointment with her, she offered to fit me at the last minute. Such a friendly surgery from receptionist to clinicians. All appointments were done with good time, care and communication. Thank you all

Unfortunately, I had to write a review about accessibility. As a Deaf individual, I requested a repeat prescription online. Instead of accommodating my communication needs, I received a text message asking me to call the surgery. I explained via email that calling wasn't convenient due to my deafness. They then instructed me to email a specific address. After doing so, I was told to contact the doctor. Despite using SignLive, which is for work purposes only, I had to wait 45 minutes due to a queue. When I finally spoke to the receptionist, I was informed I needed to see the doctor. Shockingly, they refused to provide an interpreter, which is a violation of the law. I expressed my disappointment and explained that I only needed a repeat prescription. However, they insisted I bring an interpreter. This experience was not only a waste of time for me but also highlighted the disregard for accessibility for Deaf patients

The phone and booking system from a patient perspective does not work in any way shape or form. It is completely ineffective.

You have no choice but to call at 8am, only to try some 20-30+ times before you can even get in the phone system, generally at 'number 29 in the call queue'. Then after waiting some 45minutes to get to number 1 (if it doesn't cut you off, at number 16... oh yeh, that happens!) you are too late to make any kind of booking, because the reception staff only have access for that day to the Dr's diaries!!!! and youre too late... They then advise you to call back tomorrow morning at 8am! (I just did that!!!)
Honestly, you couldn't make it up.

This happens EVERY TIME you try and call...

Think about it, I am only 1 of probably about 3000+ patients they might have on your register. Scale this mess up to how many patients they have, and this goes from being an annoyance to a very, very serious internal systemic problem.

I am sure that this completely broken, and useless system has cost lives in the past. Imagine being an 80yr old trying to get through. I would guess that there has been times in the past, where people have just given up and stopped calling, and what they were originally calling about has ultimately become a serious problem.

Honestly, getting the fundamentals right shouldn't be this difficult. it really is a very basic problem, that should be easy to fix. (more reception staff, upgraded phone system, and a more effective booking system... It's what any private organisation would do to sort out the issue.

Please look into your systems, not just for me, but for all your other patients and of course your staff (who look absolutely worn out!) probably dealing with frustrated patients all day.

If you want to complain about this, the practice managers name is Sally by the way... Not that she responds to any complaints of course.

Good luck patients... after 26 years of being with Mount Chambers I have moved to another surgery... I suggest you do the same.

Had appointment with Dr Haughian at the hub. What a lovely doctor. She listened to the 3 things I wanted to talk about and advised and prescribed. At no time did I feel rushed. This was my first appointment since transferring from Church Lane and I was really impressed. Thank you Dr Haughian.
