Usually pretty good but unfortunately today I'm in a lot of pain and the earliest appointment they can offer is over a week away. It's sadly indicative of the state of the NHS. This will lead to more clogged up A&E, and I do question how things are so busy. Spent an hour on the phone today, 20 people ahead of me.

My wife had a cateract opperation and was given a limited amount of prescribed medication and a letter regarding this to her GP which we handed to the surgery at Moulsham the same day . Five days later the prescribed medicene was still not on her records so we attended the surgery and said the medication will run out at the weekend and we will need some more. The receptionist said that my wifes records had not been updated and took a copy of a second letter we had and assured us that it would be sorted that day. No. On the Friday my wifes health records hsd not been updated. The prescribed medication had run out. The local pharmacy refused to issue an emergancy prescription as the surgery was still open .we attended Moulsham Lodge surgery and was told the letter from the hospital was on the record but that we would have to phone Danbury Pharmacy to obtain the medication. The receptionist refused to contact them herself stating it was our responsibility. We went home phoned the pharmacy number to recieve a per recorded message which stated the pgarmacy was closed and no prescriptions were being issued unting tuesday 5th may following bank holiday.
I returned to the receptionist at Moulshsm lodge and explained this. She then contacted Danbury and spoke to somewon and said that the prescription would be isdued that day... My wife recieved a phond call latter that day from the Danbury prescription office stating that her prescription would be st th Chemist

I don't believe this doctors surgery actually exists as I have never been there. Every time I have tried to get an appointment (either urgent or routine) I have been told either: "it's not urgent enough", "I'll book you in for a call back from a clinician but can't offer you a physical appointment" or "go and see XX medical professional instead". On one occasion I was assured my problem wasn't urgent enough for an appointment, but that I could go to A&E if I felt I needed to see someone - what?!

Absolutely shocking service. Phoned today at 8am 30 people were ahead of me in the queue by the time I got through all the appointment's were gone. Called 111 they sent a referral through as all surgeries keep a few slots for these but they still would not see my 6 year old with severe neck pain they advised to go A&E we waited 4 hours to be told it was child torcollis not really an emergency but best to get it checked that her spine wasn’t involved. I think the gp should have checked her

My experience is based on just one visit today due to a referral. I found the nurse who met me to be an excellent listener and a very kind person. I was late walking in rain. She had so much empathy. She took time to listen which is rare in my own GP clinic at times, it all depends on whom you get assigned to. Some GPs just rush you out of the room and make quick presumptions. Some take the time. This time I was treated well and respected and everything was diagnosed properly from ultrasound to testing of sample, to speaking and listening. Unfortunately when I previously requested a transfer to this clinic as its closer to my home I was refused. I'm not sure if it's easy to get appointments or general support here though.

If I could put no stars I would!! I knew I needed to see a GP face to face, but after several days (167 attempts to get through) on hold several times for over 1/2 hour of trying, I settled for a video link appointment, Dr Sloper who was lovely, told me I need to see a GP today or tomorrow as an urgent appointment and she will put on my notes to fit me in, I got told to ring the surgery and they will get me a face to face appointment. Got through to the surgery who offered me a telephone appointment for 1 weeks time!!! For once got through to a nice receptionist, but she had no answers on what I could do as she just can't get me an appointment. I don't understand how this can be or how the system works anymore. Am I meant to go and sit in A&E to get antibiotics?

Recently moved to Chelmsford and this was, unfortunately, the only surgery in my catchment.

It’s awful. Almost impossible to make a doctors appointment.
You either have to phone on the day at 8, in the hopes of seeing someone that day, or call on a Monday, when they release future appointments.
This is an example of when I tried to get an appointment:

When I try in the morning, it took half an hour to get through, as there are so many people calling at that time and when I got through, I was then on hold for maybe 10 minutes until a receptionist told me that all the appointments are booked up for the day and that I should have called at 8am. When I told her I did try at 8 and couldn’t get through, she showed no interest.
I tried this for three more days and still couldn’t get an appointment.
Finally a receptionist advised me to call on a Monday, as they release future appointments on that day.
I did. They hadn’t released any appointments.
The Monday after, they did. It was for an appointment in 3 weeks. I took it.
Had to wait 50 minutes in the surgery for my booked appointment.

This is the norm.

Admittedly, the doctor I saw, Dr Alexander Bradford, was excellent. Very attentive and professional. And the nurse my daughter saw for her Pre school injections was also very good. Which is why I’ve given two stars.

It’s just a shame, they have clearly taken on too many patients. The management side is atrocious. And some of the receptionists are incredibly rude.

The surgery makes it as arduous as possible to get an appointment, limiting the hours phone services are available and corralling enquiries to long online forms. I’ve not been able to get follow up appointments for chronic ongoing issues and in the end gave up. That’s not my idea of health care
