This was our fifth stay at Middlethorpe and it was another fabulous four day short break. Standards remain very high, the whole hotel is immaculate and welcoming, we will definitely be back. |We have stayed in the main house, the ground floor of the cottage and this time the courtyard. All are very good but our favourite is the cottage with its own garden.|My husband loves the Yorkshire breakfast. I need gluten free and the staff were knowledgeable and gave me lots of options to choose from. |Thank you Middlethorpe Hall.

This is without doubt one of the best hotel experiences I have ever enjoyed. From the initial welcome the staff were beyond professional, attentive and efficient. The attention to detail and historic furnishing and decoration in the hall added to the ambience. The dining experience was excellent. I have already made recommendations to family and will be pleased to continue to do so. Worth every penny.

We have just returned from four nights pure relaxation at Middlethorpe Hall.|Following a warm welcome, our considerable luggage (including dialyisis equipment) was taken up to room one. A beautiful, very comfortable, four-poster bedroom, overlooking the grounds designed by a previous owner, Fanny Rollo Wilkinson.|We enjoyed dinner on three of the four nights (being still full following a substantial afternoon tea on one of the days!). Especially enjoyed the seabass, halibut & Guiness rolls. My husband's favourite was the champagne sorbet with gin granita.|Breakfast included a choice of large full-English, fresh fruit salad, yogurts, cereals, fish & eggs Royale etc. Jams from Tiptree & good quality English butter. |I made use of the Spa, swimming daily & enjoying the hot tub. Both were ideal temperatures. I also enjoyed an hour facial.|Whilst Middlethorpe is a delightfully appointed William 111 historic hotel (National Trust); it is the staff who make it such a joyful place to stay. Nothing is too much trouble. All are kind, thoughtful & highly professional. For example, my husband struggles to keep warm regardless of the ambient temperature. We were placed by the fire with a blanket should it be needed without making any request.|We are already looking forward to returning & cannot recommend Middlethorpe highly enough.

Me and two friends had a lovely relaxing stay in one of the courtyard suites. The rooms were lovely and spotless, couldn't fault them one bit. Also used the spa facilities and really enjoyed it. The staff were lovely and went out of there way to make us welcome. Would definitely reccomend it and go back again.

Anyone wanting to stay near York should stay at The Middlethorpe Hall Hotel. It is a beautiful house with delightful staff and an excellent cook - all the ingredients for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.Our room was number 1 which was extremely comfortable with a lovely four poster. We didn't use the spa but it looked very inviting.

Dear Googlers,
Our trip was 4 days with 3 driving out to various parts of N.Yorks and a day in York with a trip to Betty's for afternoon tea.

Middlethorpe Hall is a National Trust property very much kept in order. Rooms a very comfortable. If you want a firmer pillow, take your own.

Breakfast is good. But make sure you ask for condiments when you order. Otherwise you'll sit waiting while your breakfast goes chilly. Oh, and if you like your coffee strong, ask for that too. Otherwise it's weak and not good.

Dinner - ask for the Pineapple Menu. If you have steak and a dessert it 40% of the two course set menu🤔. But really good. And if you like single malt whisky. Ask for that menu. Not everything is on the main drinks list.

I do like visiting stately homes and this is living in one.

Had a lovely couple days break at Middlethorpe. Beautiful hotel and grounds. We stayed in the courtyard in a suite was beautiful and very clean . Staff very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was gorgeous plenty of menu choice. Hope to return one day.

This is a wonderful venue, with first class service and excellent cooking. We had a Saturday lunch here that was a delight to eat. Beautifully maintained buildings and grounds just added to the pleasure of our dining experience.
