I'm very disappointed with the care (or lack thereof) I received at this surgery. It feels less like a doctor's office and more like a referral service to the local pharmacy.
I understand pharmacists are very capable, but there are times when you need a doctor's expertise, diagnosis, and personalised advice. This surgery seems to have forgotten that. There was no attempt to discuss my health concerns beyond "talk to the pharmacist."
If you're looking for a doctor who will actually listen, examine, and care for you, I'd strongly advise looking elsewhere. You'll save yourself time and likely get more helpful advice by just heading straight to a pharmacy in the first place.

They don't deserve even 1 star. How the CQC rated them as 'good' is terrifying. They have applied a kafkaesque process to obtaining an appointment designed so you give up. You spend 45 minutes waiting for phone to be answered then are required to explain intimate personal details to the receptionist or else you don't even get their help. They go and 'speak to a doctor' and return to say that you need to request an appointment on Anima (which doesn't work if the appt book is full for that day - no chance of getting a future appt) or you have go to the surgery and queue up so you can be given a form at 11am (not a minute before) to fill in and hand to the receptionist and hopefully you will hear something within 7days. There is no way the receptionist can book you an appointment for a future date of course.Too many examples now of bad bad service for this to be anything other than systemic incompetence. E.g my father wanted a PSA test as his father and brother had prostate cancer. The receptionist said he didn't need one as he didn't go to the loo enough times during the night. Approx 4 - 5 months later he was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer that had spread to his bones. Only at that point did this surgery do anything. Nothing short of a disgrace.

I was very worried about a relative who has had a stroke and I rang from Spain and spoke to Tracy and she was so lovely and thoughtful and efficient. She arranged for a doctor to phone my relative and for him to be visited. He was phoned by the surgery and spoke to a doctor the very same day. Tracy was wonderful very empathetic and I was reassured and my relative was helped. I was most impressed .

Zero would be a better score as that would align with the level of service. Chaotic, badly run and no concept of providing a service. And they don’t care as the 1.7’acore shows. Only solution is to fire the entire management team and start again. Only 2 hours in a whole week where you can use the online booking tool! If I didn’t need the appointment I’d see the joke….

I struggled to get an appointment after having a flu virus and still felt ill 2 weeks later with sinusitis. I was coughing up yellow phlegm and having yellow phlegm come down my nose. I was told to continue with the nasal spray I got from the pharmacy. Nearly 4 weeks later, I’m still coughing up yellow phlegm and have sinusitis. I was told I didn’t need antibiotics as my chest was clear. But, the phlegm is in my nose and throat.
4 weeks later I’m still suffering with the same symptoms so will need to go back as I’m still feeling unwell. Tried to book online on the NHS website and I’m still listed as being at my old practice. Took over a week for them to tell me I was no longer a patient and make an appointment with my new surgery. I only see a GP if I’m desperate for help, yet was sent away with nothing to help my sinusitis. The nasal spray I was given by the pharmacist didn’t help my sinusitis.

You cannot get to see a doctor took 11 days to get a phone call back from there. I think the service is disgusting. No wonder the NHS A&E is broken surgeries like this cause a problem I think who’s running this practice. Should be sacked immediately not fit for purpose and replace with somebody with common sense because it does not work. God knows how they got one and a half stars if I give less I would where have all the doctors gone ?

I moved to Whiteley six months ago and subsequently had to leave my practice in Wickham (which was truly exceptional). Having recently had my second baby, my requirement of services has somewhat increased (postpartum checks, immunisations etc.); upon every visit to Whiteley practice the reception staff have been incredibly rude. My first visit I was scolded for being a minute late (it was quite obvious that I had been waiting in the queue for over a minute; I was flabbergasted!); my second visit I was informed that I was at the wrong venue (coil removal; the insertion by a GP led to incorrect placement whuch resulted in pain, chronic bleeding and an ultrasound but I pardoned as these things happen; however, an inconvenience nonetheless) - the receptionist was adamant that I had been informed via text message which I assured her was not the case (I was made to believe I was lying?!); upon my third visit (most recent) I was 5 minutes late due to the fact that I had to wait for a parking space to become available. With 2 children under two in tow, I was humiliated and shamed in front of the practice's full waiting room which made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Thank goodness for the kindness of the tending nurse/and colleague - during which appointment I burst into tears. The attitude of the reception staff is completely unacceptable. I would consider myself pretty resilient, however, there will be people out there whom are not. I struggle to understand how this behaviour is overlooked? Surely the clue is in the job title - to provide a reception/to receive? To not act judge, juror or executioner would be a starting point - and to not provide medical advice a second improvement.
Having had quite a difficult time personally (death of a 5-year old child) I felt particularly vulnerable upon this day; I think moral of the story here is that nobody knows what anyone may be or may not be contending with. It is your duty when providing any service (and particularly within healthcare) to show respect, compassion and empathy.
I expect better from a healthcare provider - not just for myself but for that of others. Terrible service Whiteley Surgery - must do better next time.
