I was referred to Medicana Winchester for a brain MRI today and I was extremely impressed with every aspect of my care. I was greeted politely with a smile and introduced to a lady from the MRI team called Tasha who explained the procedure and assured me she would be nearby if I was nervous. I was allowed to choose music which she downloaded onto the headphones I would wear during the MRI. I went to see an ENT on 05/03, 18:30. I arrived at 18:20 and the consultant called me in at 18:40. Nobody has been there on the entire floor. The consultant checked my ears then used the camera to look up in my nose. I spent around 10-15mins in the room. Then I had to wait another 5-10mins for the nurse to put a label on my prescription as she couldn't contact the receptionist. After that I went downstairs to see the receptionist because of the payment. I also had to wait for her another 15min until she found out how much I have to pay. Of course they charged me for appointment+procedure and hospital equipment use. Total:£410. Then I checked my emails where I got the total price of £265+£135 which is £400 total. So I had to wait a lot, charged more and my problem was not solved.
I find it very interesting why they charge extra for equipment use?
When I see my dentist they charge for the appointment (£85) and obviously he uses the equipment of the practice to carry out the check up (inc. x-ray, and 3d picture) and not charge any extra.

My experience here was pretty much same like with NHS. Actually worse because I had spent a lot of money too.

The actual X-ray went very smoothly. Getting the results was very difficult. An extra form to complete that I wasn’t told about then report not sent to me.

Not impressed with their after op care. My daughter had a tonsillectomy and had to ask for pain relief and no soft food was available for her just shortbread, croissants and a sandwich. She ended up in A and E, given liquid morphine for pain and antibiotics for an infection. Phoned Medicana who said if any more issues just go to A and E. Not a great recommendation for after care service.

Recently had an MRI scan here as a referred NHS patient. Lovely experience, very easy to get to (not much notice for the turn though), lovely staff and I was in having the procedure done at the time of the appt. Very clean and plenty of free parking.

I had a day procedure at the hospital, feels very new and shiny, plenty of parking. Very good (modern) facilities and staff. I was kept informed throughout the whole procedure and very pleased with the results.
