The administration and reception will actively lie to you in order to avoid giving you an appointment. Their indifference shames the practitioners who actually work there. It is their job to facilitate access to health care and they act as if every call is an inconsequential burden. Absolutely shameful, should be removed.

New owners - same issues with the impossibility of getting an appointment unless you have the ability to join the phone queue at 8.30am. Three days running I have tried to get an appointment despite the surgery having a hospital discharge letter stating the doctor needs to discuss pain relief. They don’t care that a patient is in pain and no I’m not going to a&e to sit there when it’s not an a&e issue. I have been with the surgery 23 yers and held on for the last 5 in the hope that dr brown would sort it. He didn’t and sold out to a company that runs several surgery’s and are obviously profit driven. I’ll be leaving to join at my wife’s surgery where there are no issues getting appointments if they are needed.

My mother in law as dementia and was due to going in a dementia home Bowes house for emergency rest bit.
Came to surgery on Thursday 14th October told them l need the tables which she takes to be in boxes not in blister pack and on Monday 18th it was still not done asked to speak with management the manager came out and the reply l got was we have 7000 thousands patient here and my mother in law is not important in the end the chimist kamsons the lovly manager in kamsons sent lots of emails and they got the tables at 1705 hours and the home took my mother in law at that time but it was a disgusting way to be treated.
Today told half hour wait but when your one minute late they can't see you .
I was in this practice for 28 years before l moved to seaford when doctor brown and bryle were there then when l moved back its got worse and myself and my partner and mother in law are moving to downs practice as soon as possible. Nursing staff are marvellous. Doctors are great none clinical staff and management are unfriendly and very rude

Clinical staff are ok (slightly going downhill)
However the main issue is again the admin staff!!
They are quite often rude. Whenever I call for an appointment face:face they give me a phone call during that phone call the doctor then advise that they’ll need to see me!
They need to sort their system out- why is it when we have a phone call booked they cant give us a time not even an estimate so Im expected to sit around all day waiting by my phone! Ridiculous do better

I think they do as much as they can with the resources they have. Nurse Kim is 20 out of 10, regarding every aspect. I phone them when i really needed and they fit me or my baby everytime to be seened or called.

I don't usually post reviews but myself and my husband are very grateful to the reception team and Dr Brown for fitting our 9 month old son in at the end of a busy day for them! We were treated with compassion, respect and Dr Brown was very good with our little boy and was very helpful with his knowledge and advice!

After we had been seen by Dr Brown the reception ladies asked us how it all went and took time out to speak to us and interact with our little one - this is something you wouldn't see everyday but such a special touch, especially when it was our first time taking our son to this surgery!

As many one star reviews describe, best avoid at all costs. Clinical staff have been historically good but this surgery is badly let down by it's reception and administrative team. Don't be gaslight by replies they've given to negative reviews, they don't respond to patient emails or messages. They don't care.

I went today with my son, who was still in his onesie, and has a having very high fevers and a cough. I hadn't had a chance to get the new registration forms to them due to illness but Julie and Kayley on reception rushed through the registration and got me a phone appointment today. Really helpful and friendly!
